I wish the Navy hadnt let the 1911 go away to the 9mm. Not a weapons expert, but it just seemed to be more appreciated ;)

Yeah, it sucks. All services went to the 9mm due to the cheaper round, NATO round and females could fire it without taking their head off.
My weapon of choice military wise is this, SCAR 16 chambered in the 7.62 X 51 long barrel.
