You weren't kidding about all that wire wheel activity.

It's amazing how many of those C2 parts will bolt right up to a C3.

The nuts and bolts are the worst, boring as hell.

As least, when you do a part, it's good to see it look like new.

Looks good so far, Bill. I guess that NV air helps with it not corroding too much.

I feel ya on the wire wheel deal. Did you mount one on the bench grinder or are you free handing it with a drill? I use a par of vise grips to hold the bolt head when I'm doing that, fingers don't respond well to wire wheels

Some of those parts were done years ago and haven't rusted.

Some were coated with an oil preservative available from Eastwood that washes off easily for painting.

Yea, wire wheels are dangerous but I do bolts in my hands, even 1 in. long ones.
I also use the 2 in scotchbrite discs and smaller wire wheels on my air angle grinder. Drills run too slow, takes forever.

It's a small bench mounted, 6 inch. I've found that they are safer than an 8 in. 3/4 HP., if you catch a part between the rest and the wheel, the smaller motor will stop.
For grinding, you need the 3/4 horse.

Funny, I was just looking on HF to get a stand. If I'm doing a longer part the bench brake mounted next to the grinder gets in the way.
