Rocketman 1979 L82 Hood Emblem Question

Once I've gotten my coupe painted, I'm wondering where on
the hood the L82 emblems I've purchased should go. The previous owner took them off years ago when he painted it. I'm not sure how to calculate the distance they should be from the back edge of the hood. I've not been able to locate any photos or diagrams which accurately tell me this.

If it's a true L-82 hood, it'll have three holes per side up near the cowl. Even if he filled the holes you should still see evidence of them from the underside of the hood.

If you have trouble, or if they are not there as on an L-48 hood, here is a diagram out of my AIM manual that shows the positions of the pin holes.

If that doesn't help I'll have my dad take some pictures of the emblems on his 79 L82, but it wouldn't be for a few days.

Thanks for the info. fellas......and I appreciate the diagram Durango_Boy. I'll look at the underside of the hood this weekend. The previous owner also removed the rear bumper 'CORVETTE' emblem. I know it's an L82 by the VIN number digits.
