Both could be power, neither could be.

However, if they are, they should move fore/aft and up down with little more than an electric motor whine....

I wondered why this heat was taking so long.

I have had the experience of sitting in his position. What did he take out? He couldn't take out the whole system. Luckily for me all I did was screw up the wiring. Still caused a 45 minute delay while they ran new wires, aligned and retested the system. Everybody lost a run that day and I was not very popular. Still hear about it from time to time. At least I did it with style and from what I hear it was quite a show. I learned what happens with braking and oversteer in a 911. Another time after doing a 360 on course a sponsor asked if I cared for a doughnut.

I guess that's what happens when the course is basically a never ending slalom up and down a runway. Is there no room for turns or something?

Afterwards.... "Is that a 79?" lol.

well they've put 3,000 runs @ Devens and this is the 1st clown to take it out.

autoxs are more than slaloms, you should judge them based on a few.

If your running hard, your day will come. I agree with CC That looked like one big slalom run. The driver may have fallen asleep from boredom. I like some tight turns, big sweeps, dips with a few slaloms along the way.

Don't take it personal, sheesh. A drag racer would get bored on that layout.

Homestead Speedway on and off track, Hialeah Race Track and The Bank Atlantic center parking lot. 5+ years and changing tracks. No two events are the same.

Brian, was that your course layout? Maybe the driver before him oiled up the track.[jk]

I agree, the course layout looked like one giant lap around an airport with lots of chicanes.

Either way, what kinda car was that? The ride sounded violent, if nothing else. I loved the question at the beginning, "are you running naws?"!!! Too funny.

Some of the cars in the lot were cool... the various Cobra and Daytona kits are sweet looking!

At our last AX event in July, during the very last run of the last heat of the day, the best driver on the course up until that time came in hot to the stop box and run over the cones which in turn sent the lights for a tumble. It did hold us up a good while in the heat of the afternoon, but oh well it was fun watching him come in!!

Even though we change our course slightly between events, it is known as a tight course and designed to slow down the cars, especially on the back half of the course just prior to coming into the stop box. However, these cars have so much power now its nothing for a Z06 to slow for a sharp "slowdown" gate and then hit the gas and be back up to 50-60mph in a blink.

Our guys here (SCCA) build a different course for every event and they throw in a couple of "National Championship" courses each year.
I think they have a bunch of courses online because the layout sheets I've seen look professionally done.

It's an early RX7 with an LS1 in it.

Here's a different day, the same location but a different course with a good driver, there's a track map on the video.

I like the combo. RX7 and and LS1. Long course. I'm sure it's harder when your driving it, It always looks easier watching it on video.
