If you have an LS3 in your vette can you simply take it out and put a LS7 in it's place like in the old days of pulling out a chey 350 and putting in a new 350? Both LS engines are small blocks. Would the motor mounts be the same and front bracketry be the same and radiator inlet and exit all work. Otherwords would all the plumbing fit OK? This is assuming one coverted the LS7 from a dry sump to a wet sump of course. Just curios.

Don't know, but converting a dry sump to a wet sump would not be good.

Mechanically, they would fit. The sump change would be problematic... but not impossible. I would move the battery to the back (old C3 trick) and put the plumbing there for the dry sump.

You would also need to look into clutch issues going to the extra hp and tq.

The throttle body would need to be cable driven as well unless you have the DBW pedals and sensors to make it work.

Keep the dry sump. It is a much better oiling system. There is a kit out by katech I believe to make the swap to wet sump
