I have a 1993 Corvette and the rims or peeling. I live in the LA area. Does anyone have any suggestions of who can bring them back to their original condition?

Welcome! (again)

I am not sure who here in the South Bay does that... I am sure there is someone in SoCal, I just don't know who they are.

The painted rim is easy to fix, really, and in your other post, I indicated that Ecklers has a kit available for the DIY'er. You just need to dismount the tire!

Here is an option. Not necessarily cheap but an option.

A lot of wheel shops offer this service but they just sublet the work out to another shop who specializes in it. I would call a few local rim places and ask them who they recommend in your area.

Most places charge 75-200/rim depending on damage and what needs to be done.

You can get a set of those OEM wheels in perfect condition for $150-300 depending on how big a hurry you are in.

Start watching craigslist. And post a WTB on the big corvette forums, although you're more likely to get ridiculous asking prices there...

Never used these guys before, but I'm giving it some consideration as my sawblades have seen better days.

http://www.wheelsamerica.com/index.php?page=main

If you click "Buy a wheel" and enter in your year/make/model, it shows they have ten sawblades available at $139.00 each. And they'll buy your old wheels for $20.00 each.

I'm glad you posted that. They have one in Miami. I want to refinish the wheels on my 90. There was another local company about 15 minutes away from me but they seemed so disorginized they scared me. Thanks for the info.

The top of the line for refinishing any kind of wheel is Wheel Collision Center:

http://www.wheelcollision.com/

I do concur with the poster who points out you might be able to get unrestored rims in pretty good condition for a good price.

John is right... Wheel Collision has been in business for YEARS... But PA is a bit of a distance to ship wheels!
