Has anyone installed the O-ring "upgrade" to aleviate the leaking or failure of the original lip seals in corvette brake calipers? I need to fix my leaking calipers! Please let me know what your opinions are, Good, Bad, ?????

wasn't the upgrade applied to later OEM systems for the vette?

The O ring upgrade is not a bad option but in my opinion not always needed.

Typically the lip seals failed because the car sat for too long without use or going too long without fluid changes.

Yes, brake fluid needs to be changed too. LOL.

My best advice, get some replacement calipers from Autozone. They're cheap, sleeved with S/S, and come with a lifetime warranty. They are all the same casting number so your brakes will still be numbers matching.

Install them with new fluid, drive the car frequently, and change fluid occasionally...and those lip seals will last just as long as O ring replacements.

I have reman calipers from Autozone on mine and Curt's Corvette. Not a drop has leaked from either and mine have been on for almost a decade.

thanks, sounds easier than doing the whole rebuild thing and lifetime guarantee. I'll find the nearest Autozone store and do some shopping.
