My daughter's ZO6 is leaking brake fluid from both rear wheels calipers. Its been sitting since October 20th. Master cylinder is low, I filled the MC up and pumped the brakes aggressively with the engine running. Moved the vette forward on a clean part of the garage floor. After four hours no leaks. I will check it tonight after school. Have any of you run across this leaking issue before with a stored vehicle.

Considering the miles, there is a real chance that the seals have hardened and died...

I would rebuild them once spring has sprung (unless you have a heated garage, that is!).

The thing is, with the mileage, she is ahead of the normal expected wear curve. So there are going to be some of these wierd issues arise that others won't experience. Personally, I have never heard of the Z06 rear brakes leak, but now many actually have more than 20k miles on'm? Time may not be the killer...

Did the prior owner drive this thing in foul weather? There is another possible cause.

Zoe asked about maintenance last fall in a big thread... I would think now that a full on brake job may not be a bad idea.

Andy the prior owner (Drug Rep) drove the ZO6 in all kinds of weather including salt covered roads in early spring.
Full brake job is order, she bought Hawk brake pads and new rotors for the front and rear, they are on the work bench next to her vette. She followed your suggestions on brakes and rotors Andy. I'll check out caliper rebuild kits for it.
