When you are in photobucket, there is an option to "upload photos" - you need to click on that button and upload them to photobucket from your hard drive. Once that is done, find where you loaded them to (if you made specific folders). Underneath the thumbnails you will have about 4 options...it will say img code, html, direct link, email, etc. Copy the link that is "html code" and paste it directly into your corvette-guru posting. You can also click on the thumbnail in your photobucket account which will make it larger, and you will see the same links on the side of the photo. Matthew Here is an example: |

Tom, the link would work if you don't put the "." in front of it. But the photo is not there on photobucket. Got any more?

Thanks, just built my garage this Nov., it's really nice, got my wood shop in there too. And yes that's the old pan gasket, wish I had left it on there and not messed with it. I am almost ready to drop the pan again, we'll see what it looks like. You can't see or get to anything on the front of an LT1 motor w/o major work. |

I'll try that next time, don't have any more pix now. Can you believe I pulled the old cam out and stuck the hot cam in w/o taking any pictures!!! Makes me really mad. I was having so much trouble getting the motor up to pull the cam that I totally forgot about the pictures. I do have the receipt from Jegs for the cam and the old cam so it really did happen. Let me know if there is any specific picture you want and I'll try to take it if I don't have it. |

What do the marks on the valve stem tip represent in regard to the new shorter pushrods?

Thanks for putting the pix up, one of these days I'll figure it out.
As to the wear pattern, the one in both pix is with the stock 7.2 len. push rods. I didn't take pix of the new wear pattern but it's much more centered on the valve stem. I have a really bad leak in the front of the oil pan I am working on now. Have the pan almost ready to drop for the 2nd time **!!##@*, hopefully I can see what is wrong. |

Got the leak in the pan fixed thanks to a helping of "The Right Stuff" on the front and back of the curved part of the pan. There is something funny about that FelPro one piece gasket because in the front (where the leak was) it is bulging out where the pan meets the timing cover. Drove the car with the new hot cam, wow what a difference in power. Can't wait to get the new tune. Thanks to all for the good info here on the forum. I'll post up a vid. soon.

Well I had to order new heated oxygen sensors, one came today and I got it installed the other one should be here tomorrow. The guy who is doing my tune said there was no point in him doing any more tuning until I made the switch. Anyone else run into this problem? The car is running very rich. When I took the old (just replaced with new ones last summer) 02 sensors out they were getting pretty black with soot.

Nice pictures. Glad you fixed the leak. As far as I know the heated O2 sensor puts the engine into closed loop quicker. Mine takes about 5 min. of driving to go closed without a heated sensor. Is your car OBD1? Try jumping the A-B diagnostic terminals and drive around to see what's happening with this test.

flyboy,. i have a question sir about an old post if u dont mind. will the lifter tool that you sugested work on a l98 to change the cam without pulling the intake? it was posted that it would not work on the lt1-lt4 because of the oil pump drive shaft location. i think i read where you did it on the l98. thanks for the info..greg..

Max - when did you last service the intake manifold?
If it's been a while, then it might not be a bad idea to R&R it just to be safe. Also, you may want to port it a bit... |

It depends on where your sensors are in your headers. Mine are down in the collector and they could cool off with excessive idling. This would cause it to run really rich until the computer would realize it and drop out of closed loop. New heated sensors took care of the problem. I used the fuel pump enable wire from the ECM to trigger a relay to power them. I like this because it is only on when the engine is running therefore the sensors aren't being heated in just the ON or ACC position. It will make a big difference in the ability to tune it accurately. |

I used pen magnets to hold the lifters. If I was going to do it again, I think I'd remove the manifold, less anxiety.
I did nothing with the oil pump when changing the cam. |
