The problem is so many people are tied to the tit that it will be a big wreck to fix it.......if it can even be fixed at this point. If they only make or is that take 2/3's of what they spend then they gotta cut back a 1/3. So tough choices are going to have to be made but a lot of candy has to go....

It's like this.....You are a passenger in a ZR1 and you are in a high speed race and you look over and think that you are going to see BillH driving so you smile and know that your chances of living through this are pretty good.

Instead to your horror you see some idiot 14 year old with a learners permit driving at 180 miles per....

That's how I feel about what the government and how they are driving this country and the economy.....I am just along for the ride and it may end up not being a good ride.

To stop the madness one needs to apply the brakes. The car won't run without fuel. They done ran it out of gas. Ya can't make gas out of thin air. You have to buy some. So you borrow from your friends till they won't lend you anymore. You don't have a job so you pay whoever is knocking at the door with money you borrowed. Hey Mr. Ponzi! The government is looking for a few good tips.

Oh, yea, they need driving lessons.

Funny that my new congressman (who replaced Ensign when he couldn't keep his thing in his pants) drives racecars with me.
One of the first bills he introduced: Stop the paychecks to Congress until they get this resolved.

The headline of that story is:

"ROCKVILLE, Md. (MarketWatch) — It is a sad situation when hard-working CEOs and money managers who make this country great must watch a bloated federal budget waste our hard-earned money."

That is interesting....

In regards to spending, to me, its about sacrifice.... if for example we are 20% over budget, then I think the easiest solution is simply abolish exactly 20% of every spending program we have.... bar none. All programs will survive, hence making everybody happy, they'll just be making do with less.

Its what we do right now.... if you lose your job making $ 50k and find a new job making only $ 40k.... what do you do ? You make do with the 20% less.... not always easy, but yet you still survive.

Poorly written satire.

The truth is that the government is bloated, overspends, and wastes money on useless programs. Fix those before raising taxes.

As I recall it started with Bush. Can you say IRAQ? The state of the Union was fair when Clinton handed over the reigns. War has decimated our budgets while doing little to create jobs. Of course we were drifting into a useless service economy and employing offshore workers long before that happened. Illegal immigration, poor education, lack of a quality workforce all contributors and certainly not Bushes fault. Not to forget the entitled Americans. Too damn many entitlements. Throw in the spoiled generation of kids that refuse to do any work that is below them so they don't work at all. There are many unemployed executives suffering the same fate. I could go on and on. Does no good.
I will survive as will most gurus. The political machine in this country is a disaster. An outdated, outmoded orginization of egotists, philanderers, manipulators, back door dealing sons of bitches and those are the good ones.

Speaking of a useless service economy, I saw a blurb today that suggested that Facebook's market cap could be somewhere in the neighborhood of 4-6 times larger than that of General Motors. What exactly is it that Facebook produces? Makes me ill.

The state I live in, Indiana, finished its fiscal year with a 1.2 billion dollar surplus, by way of conservative fiscal policy from our current administration, while our neighbors to the west are flailing in red ink:

http://www.nwitimes.com/news/state-an ... ce-b7a0-57bd2f369b59.html

Why don't some politicians get it? If you read the last two paragraphs of the article, we already have one politician whining that with all this money, we need to spend SOMETHING!!
