I've got a 99 Jeep TJ for a fun daily beater and rock crawler. It has the 4.0 straight 6 with ~125k miles on it. I think the injectors are stock and never has been replaced. I also think I have a weeping injector. It is hard to start, will sputter for a few minutes, then runs like a champ.
So 2 questions: 1. How can I test to see if an injector is weeping? The FPR is a part of the fuel pump, so when I check the FP, I can't tell if the system is losing pressure on the injectors or the FPR. 2. How much for a set of 6? |

Thanks Tommy, I'm subscribed to the forum so it does make it easier heh.
Does sound like you could have one or more partially stuck open, which is a dangerous condition, as raw fuel washing down the cylinder wall can cause scoring and fuel in the oil. leakdown test would show either A: A stuck injector, B: a bad FPR, or C: a bad fuel pump check valve, very hard to narrow down the 3. A stuck injector will sometimes show an abnormal OHM reading, but not always. I have Bosch Design III's for it. FLow matched set as always. 3 year no questions warranty, viton o-rings installed, drop in installation for $129.05 for the set plus $7 shipping. Thanks! ~Rich |
