I bought one of these today at HF... It was on my list, It was on sale, and used one of the 20% off coupons, I also bought a couple bearing separators, the wife said, buy the press seperately as sometimes the 20% off is only on the least expensive item, so I did. Then the guy used the coupon again which took 20% off on the bearing separator kit too.. so all in all a good deal...

Damin it Rick

I need one.....NOW!

There's 2 on Craigs, one 20 T with no pic and one that looks new A-frame, 20 T. Both HF, for $160.

I have a waterpump rebuild kit laying here just waiting on a press.

Find a 20% off coupon it's on sale $159.99. It was $173 with tax.

Now I need to figure out where to put it, I was thinking of putting some casters on the bottom of it so I can move it easily. I wish the blasting cabinet had casters maybe one day I will do that too, if I can get some time to work on my own stuff. Not complaining though it's good to be busy making money...

Yea, well, of course, I saw them all summer on Craigs for $50-$100 but that was when I was lookin' for the drill press.

My chinese (Summit) blast cabinet slides around fairly easy.

Drill press is of my list too, but will have to wait probably till spring when I can make some more money, usually there is a big Fall rush before storage for people to have their vettes serviced, then with winter and the holidays usually I have very little work, then spring it goes nuts again. So next year maybe I'll get a press..

Yea, the big thing with my bench top Delta was the 5 speeds, these presses just won't go slow enough for larger bits. Pissed me off many times watchin 1/2 in. bits chattering.

The press I just got goes down to 250 rpm.

Yeah, that was a nice surprise! Got to the register and it had a hidden markdown from $99 to $65. I don't know why, but I sure didn't complain! Although I was willing to pay the $99 for it, too.

Don't be so abrasive, I'm sure that sandpaper will come in handy

Awesome deal on the compressor Matt! defitely nice for using air tools around the house ect..

My last tool purchase, was a New snap-on air hammer... but the one before that was a nice deal..

I bought a 2-ton engine hoist from Habor Freight, It was on sale for 199.99, and I had a "super coupon" for 25% off on New years day.. so I picked it up for about $160 and change with tax.. not a bad deal.. but the best part is.. I really didn't want an orange one like the color of the press.. and they did not have a display out for this one, so when I got it home I found they changed the color to silver/gray, red, and black looks nice.. so far happy with it can't wait to use it.. I'm sure it will be used to load/unload stuff from my truck as well as engines...

Good deal on the hoist Rick.

Mine's a bit bigger, I probably use it more to unload the pickup than I use it to pull engines.

I got a "big red" hoist from Pep Boys several years ago. It is holding up very nicely. My motor stand is branded "Goodyear" and is blue... got that for under $50 from Sams Club of all places. The hoist was $129 with the engine leveler and a rebate, IIRC.

This is the press I have:

It's big enough to pick the '67 Corvette body off the frame.

Guess it was a good deal.......I got it for free.

I have that tool cart with a drawer built in, Andy. It's actually pretty good quality. I bought mine at Aldi if you can believe that....but now they sell the identical one at HF 3 or 4 years later.

I used the new air compressor today to fill up the kids' blow up bouncer and I was impressed by how well it kept up.

Aldi? That's a discount store thing, isn't it?

I donno if I want/need the drawer... but the ability to keep all parts and tools in one place during a project, that's mighty attractive.

Aldi is a discount grocery store. But they seem to buy random things in bulk and sell them at the stores. Everything from mini tvs to leather gloves. But once they're out, they'll never get more.

The drawer is nice to have.

like Big Lots. I have seen them... here in the states and in Germany... never been in one.

I will debate the drawer... Check the prices when the time is ripe.

The ones we had were HF's.

At the raceshop, the owner didn't have those big, high tool boxes. All the tools were in 5 drawer rollers, 3 of them.

The advantage - they all stored under the work benchs. Yur could roll the tools to the car and the top of thr roller was an instant workbench. These combined with the parts carts was a nice setup.

Nice, something I've been thinking about, one of the rolling tool cart setups.. so I can put some tool in it, and store some of my tools in cases on the bottom shelf and use it for parts as I'm working as well.. but thats down the road not much room left in my garage..

Yea Matt, it's certainly a $50 press. not as wide as the HF 12T. But it works.

The times I've needed a 20T are almost zero. This will do what I need.

Glad to see this get bumped back up.

We are putting $$$ back in the economy on the right kind of stuff.....

I was in a local pawn shop and found a near new set of Snap-On 1/2" drive 6pt shallow sockets.... 7/16" thru 1 1/8"... talked the guy down to $100.00 out the door.

I am getting close to in desprate need of a bigger box for the house.... Which is always a good thing.

Yep, love them. You do need a R/A grinder, preferably air.
Your, compressor, Matt may run out of air (tank size) but the grinder will just run slowed. They work best @ 10,000 but they still work good at slower speeds (even with an electric drill).

One note, you have to have everything plugged up if you remove gasket rtv from like a head that is on the car, you don't want the scotchbrite fibers in the oil/bearings.

I recently switched to Summit for buying the sanding discs/scotchbrite, I buy them 25 per box.

Today was the ultimate....

Last night I found what I have been looking for for the past 4 years....a tech 1 scanner. Found it on CL with a national search. It was in MI not too far from my folks. Mint condition, case, manuals, cables, cartridges. Called the guy, told him it was sold. My dad picked it up today! Awesome. Guy was selling it cheap because he didn't know what he had and wanted to get rid of it. I was happy to take it off his hands. I won't get it until next month, but I'm super excited already!

BTW, the husky compressor I bought before has been used a lot and is holding up great.

Mine too, I'm satisfied for the price. It's been run for longer times because of the glass beading. It does put a very small amount of oil into the lines, very small, but enough that I'll need to get a good filter for serious painting.
And the pump has a small oil leak that takes 3 months to show up on the mounting plate, not enough to worry with.
All in all, a good purchase.

Matt, have you been changing the oil?

I don't have enough hours on either one - the husky pro 30 gallon or the baby husky 3 gallon.

Did you change the origional oil right after breakin?

I'm changing mine like every 8 months, it only takes half a qt.

I want to get this cart:

Bogus, I have that cart and quality is lacking.

I use it as my electronic cart for when I am working on wiring and such. I keep all my relays and terminals and rolls of wire and related stuff in that cart so it doesn't even have to bare much weight.

When assembling it, leave all fasteners a tad loose and then roll it onto a perfectly level flat floor and evenly distribute some weight in both trays. Then, tighten all the fasteners.

For some reason the flimsy trays make it really easy to get it a little uneven and then it wobbles all over the place as you roll it around and use it.
