After seeing the pics of the C4 pumps, I really didn't want to disassemble the C2's fuel tank.

The outside isn't too bad, the pickup, fuel sender was rusty on the outside. But when I pulled the assy., damn it's just like new.

There was an eighth inch of fuel in there that was put in in 1979 , I thought it would be rock hard or like molassas but it was thin and washed out easily. The inside or the tank is beautiful, shiny zinc.

Bless your low humidity- Reno.

I must say, the tanks condition is very impressive!

There wasn't even one little piece of dirt on the pickup screen and zero corrosion anywhere.

Supprised as hell.

As soon as I find an extra $15,000 - $20,000 laying around.

Hell, just the chrome & cad plating will be over $2k, $1k just for the bumpers.

I'm hoping to get the suspension together by spring.

Other than that, I'll just keep playin with rusty shit.
Every part on the car has to be rebuilt, every part is 2 hours min. usually way more.

The fuel tank alone will be at least 8 hours.

I saw this in the summit catalog the other day and was wondering if it worked:

Donno about that brand but, Summit also has Evaporust, I have 2 gal of that. It's quite impressive. And the big plus is that this stuff doesn't harm paint or plastic.

The pic below is part of the horn button, it had moderate surface rust, soaked overnite, no harm to the nylon buttons, looks like brand new.

I also have some Eastwood rust dissolver that leaves a black oxide coating on the part.

Highly recommended.
