ive got a th350 auto trans that the seal on the shifter shaft is leaking. cant get at the seal with a pick, is there enuff casting if i put the new seal agent the old one and drive the old with the new without pushing the old seal too far in the trans. the only other way is to drop the trans down to get at the seal. any input please

Drill it,insert screw,pull with side cutters. Check shaft for burs.... grease inside of new seal,use socket to install........Not rocket science guys...... "

i know i can do that, but i have to drop the trans to get at it. was hoping for a better way then droping it, thanks

You know this might be a good time to upgrade things. Have you considered a swap up to an OD auto like a TH2004R? It's almost a direct swap, and even has very similar gears to the TH350 so 1 - 3 will feel the same and you'll get a 4th and OD when you hook up an OD controller. The drive shaft stays stock. You can use your stock cross member...though you have to turn the mount backwards...and you'll have a 1 - 1 detent connection with the throttle to figure out.
