Here is a link to the guy that did mine. He had a lot of good referals from C4 owners, so I used him and I am very pleased with the results.

yup. They will also update the CD to play MP3s. If you also wish, they can remove the cassette transport and install a plug to bring interface with an MP3 player via the headphone jack.

Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks! I'm keeping the cassette though, My 1984 copy of Mike and the Mechanics still plays great. 24 to 48 hour turn around too. Nice! Thanks again.

Mike and the Mechanics were never on 8-track, Matthew... I would be thinking more along the lines of Chicago...

Well... Maybe I didn't understand the Doc very well. He quoted me $180 to fix the CD, replace the lights and clean the cassette deck. When he called today to tell me it was done he charged me $380. When I asked he told me the CD something had to be replaced to make it work, and charged me an extra $200. I have the money, not a big deal but... I kinda wish he would have told me it could be more or called to authorize the extra exspense. I had to explain that to the wife, she was ok with it but dang. Made me feel dishonest. Anyhow it should be here for the weekend.

That's not right. You could have bought a nice used unit for less than that. Him not telling you about the added expense is BS.

Exactly Gentlemen, I talked to him on the phone for 10 mins. He never mentioned extra exspenses. I didn't ask either. When he called back he said something like "I thought you'd want it fixed". It is important to me to have it done right. I just feel bad about telling the wife it would only be so much. She's ok with it. She still loves the Corvette. Thanks again for the advice, no sarcasm.

Just after I finished typing that, I called Don. He checked my order and said I should have it today. 10 minutes after I hung up I had UPS at the door and it is here. I have to work today so I will install and test run her tonight. On another note, I finished my almost 5 year resto on my L98 89 IROC and will be driving her to work for the first time tonite! If anyones interested it's documented on Thirdgen.org, same handle. I kept telling the Wife it was a four passenger Corvette that we could take on family vacations! Anyhow will post on the stereo rebuild after the install. Thanks again.

Matak, I turn 44 in 2 months I have no idea how to post a link but will have my 11 year old look into that. Anyhow, it's 5am, and yes I'm drunk. The re-install took about 3 hours. I had a factory screw snap off screwing into plastic, found out the cup holder lid had 2 broken tabs. Well after a short course in plastic welding, EVERTHING WORKS! Thank GOD, and you guys of course! The stereo is incredible! The climate control works like new! I spent a couple hours sipping Yuengling and listening to tunes in the garage, playing in the Corvette of course. If anyone wants to PM me about posting a link I would be happy to try, Luke has school tomarrow. If I was nit picking, The extra 2 bones, well... The shipping time sucked. It does work great. The only complaint I would have if I really was anal would be that the new lights in the deck are quite a bit brighter than the rest of the lights in the display. But I'm Ok with that. Dons work is good. Thanks again Brothers.

Just open up your thread on TGO, go into your browser address box (www.thirdgen.org/whatever is after it.com), highlight and copy that, and paste it in a new reply box here.

I'm gonna have to assume no one liked the Camaro as I got no response. I hope I didn't break a forum rule by posting a pic of a NON Corvette. I tell the wife it's a simplified Corvette with 2 extra seats. Anyhow we put 1k miles on it in 2 and a half weeks. It's a fun car. The insurance comes back on the Corvette April 15. Thanks for looking.

No TJ, there's no problem with pics of your Camaro (nice BTW) or pics of your lawnmower.

No response just happens, no big deal.

I have thousands of posts that nobody responded to....and that's OK.

Very sharp! Love the body style.
Looks like a real Camaro should.
BTW, I had my Bose Gold radio, CD, cassette, unit fixed in Jan. The shop I took it to sends them out to someone in NY. Flat rate repair. In other words they go over the whole thing, fix whatever it needs and warranty it for a year for $300. The tuner module was $200, flat rate if it makes you feel any better. The properly working Bose is just fine for these over decibeled ears and I have no intention of swapping out to something that doesn't look OE.
I know I'm behind the times but as someone that remembers when a rear seat speaker was a big deal and Vibrasonic was totally tits, I just don't need 75# of earth shattering stereo. At my stage in life I'd rather listen to the motor most times anyway.
It's nice to have the option of radio, CD, or cassette also.
I still have lots of cassettes I recorded.

Sorry, I missed this the first time around. Car looks great! Did you prime it in your garage? How much body work was necessary?

Thanks Guys, No I didn't paint it in my garage. No rust at all but dings on every panel! I have a friend who is a pro and he let me work on it in his shop after hours since I'm a poor civil servant. He did the actual painting. Stats are: L98, 083 heads ported by me (read several books and Vids)3angle valve job, viton seals. Ported and ceramic plated stock intake and plenum, 1205 gasket matched everything including water ports, ported SLP runners, 1 3/4 SLP headers, 1.6 GMPP roller rockers, LT4 springs, locks, and retainers. Billet double roller timing chain and gears. 700R4 with a B&M kit. 24# injectors and for now a Hypertech thermomaster chip. It runs pretty good, I think the valves need re-adjusted as we set them up cold and new. The wife hit 127mph in it already! She's a nut and has way too much faith in me and my mechanical ability! Oh, also D+S cad plated rotors, all new wheel bearings, brake lines, calipers and Wagner pads (not thrilled with them) New interior with heated seats and probly a lot of stuff I can't remember right now, 5 years is a long time. Thanks for the replies!

A GOOD businessman would have had already emailed you with tracking information so you knew when to expect a shipment (so it wasnt left outside in bad weather or possibly stolen). Add to that his deception of quoting one price and chargiung another is just BAD business and VERY shady!
