GM GGs

The initial tax reports are in and it looks like we have to pay. Sue's grandfather used to say; "What are you complaining about? If you have to pay, that means your making money.". There is always something about losing money while making money that is irksome. Oh well, we have to pay the fiddler. Now if only the fiddler would quit fiddle f@(%ing around. .............

Good Morning CGs!

Tommy, maybe you can find the fiddler on the roof...and push him off

Wifey picked up a shift at work today so I'm with the rugrats again. Rugrat #1 had a damn atomic meltdown at 6:20 this morning because mom wasn't there and she wanted me to call her and tell her to come home. Nope.

Was supposed to work on BIL's truck today but that got pushed until tomorrow. I do need to mail some stuff at the post office today, though, so that's the plan.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good morning guys...I made enough changes to my pre-tax deductions and didn't do as much work in the shop this year that we actually got some money back from the feds for a change.

First baseball game today for my GS. I hope he has a good season.

Got work to do...later.

I also went over our taxes with the accountant and am still amazed how the middle class is being taken to the cleaners. It is a lot better than last year but still more then I think I should be liable for......bitch and moan...bitch and moan....We are living well, God bless America...

Got the Envoy back and now all the estimates have to happen. I hope they don't total the car.....I can't imagine they will but these days who knows.

Rained a bit last night but I don't think it will slow us up much. Got things to do inside anyway.

Enjoy your day Guru's....Somebody was enjoying their day and drove their Shark to work......

After killing a good hour listening to guitar music I'm ready to start my morning. Priorities you know .... Get your head on straight and start doing something productive.

Funny thing ...... When I think my head's on straight, for some reason, it's still on crooked .

Really frustrated doing dang VocEd paperwork. I get past one area then the next one throws me a freaking curve. Just spent 45 minutes with the principal going over the crap, he's as frustrated as I. And worse, the deadline to have all this done is looming.

Got to go.

Hey Gurus!

Been a while since I stopped by. Things at work are finally starting to lighten up a little, so I'm taking a quick break.

Interesting to hear that many in Guru-nation are having to pay on their taxes. I think that's a good thing. Show's some smarts. You've all arranged your financial houses in a way where the government is holding your money hostage for most of the year. I always got a kick out of people who brag about getting a $2k - $3k tax return. When you try to explain it to them, they just don't get it. For about the fifth year in a row, we broke even between two state returns (live in Indiana, work in Illinois) and the federal. Ended up paying a net of $60.00 and that was for the tax software. Just the way I like it.

I just came to the sad realization yesterday that we've had one of the warmest and driest months of March on record and I only managed to put 150 miles on the 'Vette since taking it out of storage in late February. This has to change!

Have a good day Gurus!

Why oh why do you guys remind me of paying my taxes? I've been putting it off, yech, not that I wouldn't get some sort of hate mail with more serious follow-ons if I don't do them...

Actually, these days, your security clearance depends on paying your taxes or even filing.

We had a high ranking patent attorney over at the contractor's office who did not pay his taxes for several years. Lost his security clearance and consequently his job. Don't know what he's doing right now. Not smart unless he wanted to retire...but he would still have to pay his taxes, fines and penalties...

The new RX7 is scary and the Corvette needs fuel...$3.69 here at Kroger this morning. Miata only took 7 gallons though

Hm... taxes and politics... I love how people still make assumptions about taxes to parties.

The GOP is so determined to cut taxes that they will bankrupt the middle class to do it.

And no matter how bad we think it is here, in many of the European nations, I don't know how they sustain the business model... Talking to a cab operator in Holland, he had to pay some $1300 a quarter in road taxes, some chunk for annual ownership tax on his cab and other fees. When it's all said and done, some 50% goes to taxes. In some countries, you get good retirement plans and health care, in others, you get austerity programs and defaults.

I just don't see how that can exist with any kind of profit motive.

Considering, with proper tax preparation, most folks are only going to pay about 15% in income tax. Sure, we have state taxes, and sales taxes and such, but when all added up, they don't max at much more than 25%... because your state tax is based on your income less federal. And in most states, if not all, your property taxes are deducted before you pay your federal... so there really isn't a "double tax" going on... in a way.

What bothers me is the concept of supply side; where the wealthy pay little to use their wealth to stimulate downward through reinvestment. History has shown it not to work that way. In theory, sounds great, in practice, not so much.

I feel that Warren Buffet is dead nuts right when it comes to the concept behind a billionaire tax. The middle class been getting raped long enough.

I hate being pissed off in the morning, so cut the tax talk.
Just spent an hour in the bank taking care of the motherfuckers that are trying to rip my creditcard off.

I got a call this morning, caller I.D, said: Credit Card Services F.

I almost didn't check it because there's at least 2 other phone numbers that show Credit Card Services which show up as frauds.

But I went on "whocallsme" and it did look like it actually was my bank, so I went to my branch office.
Bastards had $1k racked up already.

Suck ass way to spend a morning.

Amen - mofuggers! A friend was telling me that one of his golf buddies went to file his tax return, and was told that his return had already been filed. Somebody got ahold of his info, phonied up a return and got a $300K refund.

Meanwhile, the Goofers are in a nailbiter in the NIT finals - they're only down by 30.

Refund fraud is growing like crazy. If we had a tax on purchases and services to replace the current income tax system everybody would pay their fair share. It would be pay as you go. You don't buy, you don't pay. Plain and simple. You buy a jet, pay, you buy a Rolls, pay, you buy a Rolex, pay, you buy a house, pay. you buy some twenty-fo's, pay. The only exceptions would be funeral expences. Then the heirs pay on the estate taxes.
