So , I have seen this poor Vette 68/72 sitting for years at this local restaurant. ABANDONED ! Turns out it belongs to the owner of the restaurant, which by the way I beat the liv'in $hi\s out of in high school.. He remembered me, I told him I wanted to by the car , as I was tired of see'in it rotting!I told him , if you dont wanna sell it , at least let me guide you to places to have it fixed up ! .. He said to me "I dont have the $$ to put into it"!... So I simply gave him my card & said , If you change your mind, jus call me.... Next thing I know this HOT Lady approaches me and says I'll sell you the car ??? Turns out it is his MOM!.. Major foxy lady, once again the guy walks away with tail between legs........ WEAK! Mom said she will call me Hope I get the car !

It appears there is no hood, no headlight doors, and no t-tops ... I would bet there is no back window either.

Therefore, said sticker is on one of the rear bumpers, assuming they are actually there.  laughing6

Chrome bumper cars have been gaining in value for the last 12 years... and then they sunk like a rock about 3 years ago... and now they are marginally rebounding.

If it is # matching? It's top value, depending on engine (realistically, not counting ZL1's here!), is MAYBE $80k for an NCRS Top Flite, Bloomington Gold restored 427 L71. The money drops off from there. More realistically, if it is a more common car, figure no more than $25k, in top condition.

That one looks like it would cost $25k just to remove the cover.

Now, if I could get it for, oh, $3k, it would be worth it.

Yea for only $90k in restoration costs for THAT car.

If you want an all origional 69, L71, there's some available @ $45.

Correct. Best of the best (L88, LT1 w/air, extremely low miles, etc.) chrome bumper sharks are pricy. Original, nicely-equipped, well-kept big block early sharks are just not that expensive.

Durango , I like your quote

I havent seen under cover yet. But if this deal happens , I see my self spending $1500. for a great paint job, I can rebuild the engine, trans, rear end and all else myself, for under 1k. Hell I'll do whatever body work it needs myself aswell. As far as tops, hood, headlight doors, rear glass, if it even needs this stuff I can get for maybe 2k !

Soo , lets see I'll call it on the high side .. $7k plus purchase price. After all I would just make a daily driver out of it...

If all them made were taken care of, yours would be worth that much less, so it cuts both ways.

I'm still wondering what happened to all the station wagons from the early 70s. Some bitchin cars that you don't see anywhere now.
