I know it's a repro valve from one of the usual suspects ($35), but the difference is AMAZING!
Now the evaporator and heater core aren't fighting each other. Don't know if anyone else has a 69-72 A/C car with so-so cooling, but this did the trick for me. Mark |

Glad it worked! Is that a vacuum operated bypass that works off a switch? Manual or automatic?
I noticed since I've bypassed the heater core last week or so that the car runs about 10* cooler. |

Yes it's vacuum operated.
The valve is always open UNLESS "MAX A/C" is selected, at which time vacuum is applied to the valve and it closes off the flow of hot coolant to the heater core. Mark |

Nice!
My original valve had expired as well. I've got a manual valve in mine right now and just open it for the cold days. When I finally get around to bringing my climate control system up to par, I may put one of those back in. Good to know it works as intended! |

Yeah. Yours is electric and plastic. Curious what kind of manual valve you're using?
