Last night the thunderstorms rolled in. I was standing in the front yard watching the collision of a west wind and a wind out of the south east. The winds gusted around 40 and the thunder, lightning, rain and hail entertained us for about an hour. Hail is not a common occurance here but we get it from time to time. Fortunately it was not a damaging hail. I was watching it bounce up off the front lawn. I slept like a baby last night but awoke with the sinuses fully engaged. Have a good day guys. Today may well be the day you've been waiting for ........ Or not.

Good Morning CGs!

Well I scored yesterday at the store. My wife wanted to add a new partial top row of landscaping bricks to the existing wall. A few weeks ago we went to the usual HD, Menard's, Lowes, etc and ended up buying 8 bricks to do the job along with a few random existing ones I had laying around. Get them home, they are the wrong size. Company changed them somewhere along the line. No longer 8 inches deep, now 7 inches deep. Makes a difference. So yesterday I was driving through the lot at a Kmart that is closing, everything is on the last days of clearance. They had old random pallets of landscaping brick. I found 8 in the color I need and guess what? The right size. Have probably been sitting there for years. I paid .54 cents each...lol. Good deal. Got home last night and worked for an hour or so laying them out, the match is almost identical. You can't tell the difference at all. I still need to lay out / cut / glue to top cap layer, but that's ok. I'm happy I found what I need.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

I usually wash mine twice a week........but I had that obnoxious flooring project (defined as doing something meaningful? ) which generated a lot of sawdust in front of the garage......which the breeze blew right into the garage............which means I do nead to vacuum the garage floor.

Did you ever stop and wonder...

Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin?
Why women can't put on mascara with their mouth closed?

Why toasters always have a setting so high that could burn the toast to a horrible crisp which no decent human being would eat?

Why there a light in the fridge and not in the freezer?

Why you don't ever see the headline: "Psychic Wins Lottery"?

Why "abbreviated" is such a long word?

Why Doctors call what they do "practice"?

Why you have to click on "Start" to stop 'Windows'?

Why lemon juice is made with artificial flavor, while dishwashing liquid is made with real lemons?

Why there isn't mouse flavoured cat food?

Who tastes dog food when it has a "new & improved" flavor?

Why people point to their wrist when asking for the time, but don't point to their bum when they ask where the bathroom is?

Why your Obstetrician or Gynaecologist leaves the room when you get undressed - if they are going to look up there anyway?

Why Goofy stands erect while Pluto remains on all fours? They're both dogs!

Why Noah didn't swat those two mosquitoes?

Why they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?

Why sheep don't shrink when it rains?

Why they are called apartments when they are all stuck together?

If con is the opposite of pro, is congress the opposite of progress?

Why they call the airport "a terminal" if flying is supposedly so safe?

Who the first first person was to look at a cow and say, "I think I'll squeeze these pink dangly things here, and drink whatever comes out?"

Who the first person was that said, "See that chicken there, I'm gonna eat the next thing that comes outta it's bum?"

Why the professor on Gilligan's Island can make a radio out of coconut, but can't he fix a hole in a boat?

If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes?

What do you call male ballerinas?

If blind people can see their dreams? Do they dream??

That if Wile E. Coyote from the Road Runner had enough money to buy all that ACME crap, why didn't he just buy dinner?

If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?

If corn oil is made from corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables, then what is baby oil made from?

If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?

Why the "Alphabet Song" and "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" have the same tune?

Do illiterate people get the full effect of Alphabet Soup?

Why do they call it an asteroid when it's outside the hemisphere, but call it a hemorrhoid when it's on the outside of your ass?

Why it is when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him on a car ride, he sticks his head out the window?

How come we put a man on the moon before realising it would be a good idea to put wheels on suitcases?

Why brain cells come and brain cells go, but fat cells are forever?

How important someone has to be before they can be 'assassinated' rather than just plain 'murdered'?

How come "phonetically" is spelt with a "ph"?

Why a round pizza gets delivered in a square box?

Why people pay to go up in tall buildings, and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?

When you get to heaven / paradise / nirvana, are you stuck wearing whatever you were buried or cremated in forever

Thanks Brad.
If you read the first few pages on Amazon, it has a bunch about my cousin Dave.
And the beginnings of York U.S. 30 Dragaway, it was just awesome being a part of all that even with me being the crew gofer (and the guy who had to smuggle beer into the pits).

Racing was all we thought about 24/7. Used to catch hell from my mom for coming home at midnight from working on the racecars (on a school nite).

Come to think of it, I'm still thinkin' about racin' 24/7.

This was the way it was, I was there when some of these vids were filmed. The first 2 minutes shows Dave (even drivin' for the Dodge Boys, yuk).
Check out Linda towards the end.

I just can't describe how bitchin' it was.
Imagine taking the race car 2 hours away (75 & 80 Dragway in D.C.) using a freeking tow bar since we couldn'y juatify buying a trailer.
Seeing all the big boys show up Gartlis, RamChargers, Stone, Woods & Cook, Gas Ronda, Dick Landy and so on.

I was at York U.S. 30 when TV Tommy Ivo showed up in this rig, the Corvette rode on top of the truck.

Great vid and pics, Bill! I remember some of those cars from my old Hot Rod Magazines waaaaaaaay back in the day.

Tommy, AutoWeek is OK, it's pretty cheap and makes good "library" material. Corey Farley is my favorite columnist of theirs.

Yea, it was great. And it did screw me up as far as being a "fan" , going to watch the Indy, Trans Am, Nascar & Formula 1 races. Something was always "lacking" just sitting there watching and drinking beer.
