Good Morning CGs!

Is anyone else fascinated by weird dates like I am? For example Oct 10th, 2010 (ie 10/10/10). I just noticed today is 06/06/12 and the day and month adds up to the year. I always look for strange little occurrences such as that. Am I the only one?

I am gonna try to make it to the powdercoater today to pick up my intake. It's all cleaned up so I can get it in the garage and start doing a little casting cleanup. I also have to mock it up and order some new bolts for it. I might get it on in about a month or so. I'd like to fix the a/c first. Which reminds me I need to order those parts, too. I keep neglecting to do that. Always something to do.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Got a car show this weekend so have to get the C5 ready for inspection. I may also enter the Harley....who knows?

Gotta git....have a safe day Guru's.....

Howdy! Top is off the Vette - I laugh in the general direction of the chance of showers today. Running with scissors, I am. I almost had a decent round of golf last night, weather was perfect, too.

Have a good day, all!

Ya, but I never admit to them.

Good morning gang. Wifey slept pretty good. Me too. I just stayed up a little to late, cooling down after the Heat loss to Boston. Only thing I have planned for today is a quick run to town. Later, clean and dress the incisions and do an anti-infection grass skirt dance with magic spells. Later guys ......

Oldie but sooooooooooooooooooo true:

GOD: "Frank, you know all about gardens and nature. What in the world is going on down there on the planet? What happened to the dandelions, violets, milkweeds and stuff I started eons ago? I had a perfect no-maintenance garden plan. Those plants grow in any type of soil, withstand drought and multiply with abandon. The nectar from the long-lasting blossoms attracts butterflies, honey bees and flocks of songbirds. I expected to see a vast garden of colors by now. But, all I see are these green rectangles."

ST. FRANCIS:
It's the tribes that settled there, Lord. The Suburbanites. They started calling your flowers 'weeds' and went to great lengths to kill them and replace them with grass.

GOD:
Grass? But, it's so boring. It's not colorful. It doesn't attract butterflies, birds and bees; only grubs and sod worms. It's sensitive to temperatures. Do these Suburbanites really want all that grass growing there?

ST. FRANCIS:
Apparently so, Lord. They go to great pains to grow it and keep it green. They begin each spring by fertilizing grass and poisoning any other plant that crops up in the lawn.

GOD:
The spring rains and warm weather probably make grass grow really fast. That must make the Suburbanites happy.

ST. FRANCIS:
Apparently not, Lord. As soon as it grows a little, they cut it-sometimes twice a week.

GOD:
They cut it? Do they then bale it like hay?

ST. FRANCIS:
Not exactly, Lord. Most of them rake it up and put it in bags.

GOD:
They bag it? Why? Is it a cash crop? Do they sell it?

ST. FRANCIS:
No, Sir, just the opposite. They pay to throw it away.

GOD:
Now, let me get this straight. They fertilize grass so it will grow. And, when it does grow, they cut it off and pay to throw it away?

ST. FRANCIS:
Yes, Sir.

GOD:
These Suburbanites must be relieved in the summer when we cut back on the rain and turn up the heat. That surely slows the growth and saves them a lot of work.

ST. FRANCIS:
You aren't going to believe this, Lord. When the grass stops growing so fast, they drag out hoses and pay more money to water it, so they can continue to mow it and pay to get rid of it.

GOD:
What nonsense. At least they kept some of the trees. That was a sheer stroke of genius, if I do say so myself. The trees grow leaves in the spring to provide beauty and shade in the summer. In the autumn, they fall to the ground and form a natural blanket to keep moisture in the soil and protect the trees and bushes. It's a natural cycle of life.

ST. FRANCIS:
You better sit down, Lord. The Suburbanites have drawn a new circle. As soon as the leaves fall, they rake them into great piles and pay to have them hauled away.

GOD:
No!? What do they do to protect the shrub and tree roots in the winter to keep the soil moist and loose?

ST. FRANCIS:
After throwing away the leaves, they go out and buy something which they call mulch. They haul it home and spread it around in place of the leaves.

GOD:
And where do they get this mulch?

ST. FRANCIS:
They cut down trees and grind them up to make the mulch.

GOD:
Enough! I don't want to think about this anymore. St. Catherine, you're in charge of the arts. What movie have you scheduled for us tonight?

ST. CATHERINE:
'Dumb and Dumber', Lord. It's a story about....

GOD: Never mind, I think I just heard the whole story from Frank.

Good morning ... I slept pretty good last night. I'm glad to hear that Sue slept well, Tommy. Supposed to be a decent day today and my Corvette is supposed to be done today. After I get back from PT I'll give them a call and find out where we are. I drove yesterday for the first time since the surgery.

God bless America and those that made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her. Today is, without a doubt one of the most famous days in our history.

Put on my work clothes, climbed the ladder to the second story window and promptly dropped my Dewalt sander 15 feet on to the concrete. Broke it of course.

Good excuse to DNBFS the rest of the day.

Back from PT. More gains up to 124 degrees and they have added more reps to my exercises and added some weight to the ankle for more resistance. My leg is tired though now.

They got my Corvette done, just waiting for an alignment. Should be able to get it Friday.

Can't, I'm saving up for that ZR1.

Maybe spray glue & tin foil????

So, I go on line to Dewalt, sure they have the switch that broke for the sander - reasonable - $3.91
But $13 for shipping.

Found one for $9.00 shipped.

That and a little JB weld, good to go.

Hand sanding on an aluminum ladder sucks.

Yea, buy one, the sales numbers really suck:
"The General Motors Bowling Green Assembly Plant has released their production figures for the 2012 Model Year Corvette. A total of 11,647 Corvettes were produced: 24.4% were base coupes, 5.3% were base convertibles, 43.4% were Grand Sport Coupes, 19.5% were Grand Sport Convertibles, 4.1% were Z06s and 3.5% were ZR1s.
Of the ten colors offered in 2012, Torch Red knocked black from the top spot with 19.5% or 2,266 cars. Carbon Flash Metallic (this year’s only ‘black’) was in close second with 18.9% or 2,201 cars. The order of popularity for the remaining colors was: Blade Silver, Arctic White, Crystal Red Metallic, Cyber Gray, Supersonic Blue, Velocity Yellow, Carlisle Blue and Inferno Orange.
The addition of navigation to the 3LT package proved to be successful as 47.3% or 5,510 of the cars built had this option.
The Centennial Edition Package was quite popular with 18.9% of the cars having this feature, while 8.9% of the Grand Sports had the Heritage Package.
Only six buyers opted for the Customer Selectable VIN, while 12 completed the Corvette Engine Build Experience. The National Corvette Museum was fortunate to welcome 181 Corvettes as part of the R8C Museum Delivery option."

I wanted one of those, toured the plant last year wanted the Grand Sport Vert with engine build option - I couldn't do it but it would be cool to do if you could. I liked that carbon flash metallic
