Not sure if i should start a new thread, but i figured i'd gauge any reaction here and apologies if it seems im trying to hijack the thread...i have been using this simple jack iPhone car mount for a while now and have been looking to update my set up a bit. With this set up i got straight into the head unit via a good old fashioned aux cable. I still want the iPhone integrator but im wondering if there are any other options similar to this Oxygen Ocar headunit..the head unit streamlines the multi media from the phone to the system and also charges it. Are there any other quality options that are similar?

Most of the aftermarket head units that control iphones, CONTROL iphones... they become the access point... phone, audio... whatever.

Welcome to the site, Chuck. I made this a separate thread for you.
I've never heard of the Ocar unit you were talking about, so I had to google it. It doesn't appear to get that high of reviews here: http://www.amazon.com/Oxygen-Audio-Ocar-iPhone-Radio/dp/B006JXRE4M To be honest with you, it looks like a strange setup. Almost all of the new head units have Ipod integration in them with a simple Ipod jack or interface in the rear or the unit. You simply plug your Ipod in and control it through the head unit. Is that what you are looking for? What is your price range for a new head unit? Plan on installing it yourself? Matthew |
