... every year, there is a point when it becomes obvious that it's time to put the convertible away for the winter. That time came today - it's getting cold in the Philadelphia area now and 'verts are a lot less fun with the top up.

I inflated the tires to a little over the factory specification, checked the state and insurance paperwork, put in some fuel stabilizer, and ran the engine enough to warm things up.

Then, on the battery tender, locked up, and up on the storage lift. Got the Chivas out (with the C5 glass, of course), took one last long look, and resolved to drive her more in 2013.

When you live with seasons, seasons have more meaning. This will make the ponderings of Winter and the Vettes emergence in Spring so much more meaningful. Here in Florida we pretty much have two seasons. Hot and wet or nice. We are now enjoying the nice. Enjoy the Chivas and have a pop for me.

I envy that garage Mine is sadly under the cover, for similar and different reasons at the same time...

You can always get Louis out on the better days. We have not had a lot of days so far I couldn't drive Quicksilver. Nice shop!

Louis should be out all but 10 or so days this winter - all weather Michelins and heated seats do wonders. I'll try to take Lauren out at least once a month: the engine likes the cold though the body creaks like an old boat.

Thanks to you and the others for the complements on the garage. I have come to realize that what looks spare compared to some of my Corvette friends (Rex Ruby I'm talking to you ) looks very nice to many other folks. It's a 24 x 24 with two storage lifts. The doors run along the ceiling, which was built with an eye toward having lifts at some point. Basics by a company that only does garages and (semi) finishing done by Rex Ruby. Power, but no heat or water.

10-4 on the heated seats.....I scoffed at the thought but now wouldn't order a Vette without....uh...it's because my wife really likes them....

I'm suprised you don't run a heat source in there to keep the cars at a constant 55 degress in the winter. I keep my shop heated to about that but we store our deck plants in there all winter and then there is the stupid barn cats.....

We've kept things relatively spare because we're (seriously) thinking of building a snazzier garage when we redo our master bedroom. As always, it's the priorities ...
