Good Morning CGs!

Last night we went out to dinner for the MIL's bday. We tried a restaurant close to the house where we have never been, a "Bohemian" restaurant with all kinds of European food. All I can say is I'm sorry we didn't go there sooner. The food was excellent, large portions, and well priced. I got real Schnitzel made out of veal (a lot of places use pork) and I was happy. We will definitely go back there again.

Don't forget to move your clocks forward an hour. The time change is going to make the kids loopy for a few days. We'll see how that pans out.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good morning. Now that I've messed with Matt, my day is off to a good start. I still have to mess with BillH. No clue what I will do today. It will unfold as the day progresses. Guess I could look at my list. I was thinking about going to the casino but the thought of making an unplanned donation to the tribe is bothersome. I might just stay around here and save the money.

Here is a story. Read the story then read the comments. There are two sides to every story.

In Miami today, they have one of the biggest block parties in the country. Sometimes it hovers around a million people. That's why you won't find me within miles of that place.

I'll change my clocks in a day or so.

And I'll see if I can find my watch.

Once you drive something fast, you may get the same idea.

But then, you actually have to drive your cars on the track, not wash em and stare at em......not claybar em and then go get groceries.

Especially since there's already been 2 events at Homestead-Miami this year already.

In yesterdays episode BillH suggested theat I should be autocrossing, not washing. So, I went to my local PCA chapter to find there is no longer a program since they don't have a chair or registrar for the program.(No, I will not volunteer) So I went to my local Equip Rapide South Florida Chapter to find their season ended in January with no new events posted. I have to check out SCCA. PCA still offers DE at three South Florida Tracks, Palm Beach, Sebring and Homestead and cost is over $300 a session. Piggy bank is a little light right now due to high car maintenance expenses. My wifes 911 just came out with an oil change, shifter linkage repairs and cv boots for the rear. The 928 is due out soon. Oh well, I can still go to car shows.

You can drop that much in that Indian place in one nite.

We don't have the Florida tax here, we charge $275 for TWO days.

Racing my Ford was %1,500 a weekend.

Welllll.....some spirited trash talk laying down the foundation of a good Guru daily chat I see.....very nice!

Yesterday I took the GS out and drove it around in the 62 degree weather. Great drive and I considered taking it into church but I could see some dark clouds on the horizon and put it back in the shop. Glad I did...rain and snow and blizzards have hit and its very ugly out. I see Denver is shut down including the airport. What a mess that would be.

Looks like I will get to run (have to run) the snowblower again....somewhere the sun is shining and people are having a good time.....

Think I will go back to bed....have a good day Guru's...

Good stuff....a lot of the shootings are by minorities who have joined gangs because they have no other families and are where they are as a direct result of the welfare state the Democrates have put them in.....how is that for some enlighting bit of truth? Now our only defense is to arm ourselves and be careful where and when we travel....real f'n nice.....

The other fact I have ranted on before is when folks put thier kids in little cheap pieces of tin shit to drive. I understand the money part of it, but you can get an older SUV or pickup for not a lot of money and you will pay more for fuel but your kid has a lot better chance of surviving a wreck with some structure around them. I see it all the time. Some folks we know just lost their teenage daughter who had tangled with a pickup truck and she was driving a smaller car which placed her at bumper height. WTF!

Morning guys...Cold and damp here. Not much planned, church and a soccer game. Wife wants to go to Joann Fabrics, I'll hit Harbor Freight while she does that (they are next door to one another.)

Wish we had an opportunity to do some auto-x around home.

That story, Tommy, is just about what I would expect from the liberal media. Yes, there are two sides, but the media has a way to slant it toward their point of view. I agree, every person who dies at the hand of a gun is sad, but gun control won't fix it. I like Texas' stand and would support it here in Kansas.

Damn, I am good - slept until 11. Well, it was really only 10, I guess. But still, I am good. I plan a more relaxing day than yesterday, where a little project required 3 trips to Home Depot.

My sister sent me this, so I modified it just a tad:

Job Description

Someone asked Tommy, "Now that you're retired, do you still have a job?" He replied, “Yes I am my wife's sexual advisor." Somewhat shocked, they said "I beg your pardon, but what do you mean by that?" Tommy answered, "Very simple. The wife has told me that when she wants my f---ing advice, she'll ask me for it!"

Busy fighting with my GMC dealer about a side wall blow out on my new 13 sierra 1500. The rim is dented but the beed never broke. Explain to me how the tire pressure thing works is it in the valve stem?

If the rim isn't usable I will put it on a trailer. Any ideas on in expensive rims that don't look like crap. The omc rim is almost $300 and the 18" wrangler is $150 plus. If I can get 4 rims that look decent for under $300 buck i might be happy.

I know if it was the vett $1000 + no problem lol

"Have you ever seen a twenty dollar bill all crumpled up?" asked the wife.

"No," I said.

She gave me a sexy little smile, slowly reached into her cleavage and pulled out a crumpled twenty dollar bill.

"Have you ever seen a fifty dollar bill all crumpled up?" she asked.

"No," I said.

She gave me another sexy little smile, seductively reached into her panties and pulled out a crumpled fifty dollar bill.

"Now," she said, "Have you ever seen 30,000 dollars all crumpled up?"

"No," I said, intrigued.

"Well, go and take a quick look in the garage."

Now you only need $250 more by Mar. 17th.

Shame he's not here to bash,

Probably off doing something with the girls.

Haven't seen him around much since he posted that picture of him with that other guy in Chicago's Gay Pride Parade.

Good afternoon, all.

I drove my mom down to one of her aunt's viewing/funeral, leaving on Friday morning and bringing her back on Saturday afternoon. My wife pointed out that her 2012 is our best long distance vehicle, so we should take that. I said thank you - and did.

It was snowing on Friday morning when we left the Philadelphia area, but Louis was unfazed due to his snotty all-weather Michelin Pilot Sports. I avoid Interstate 95 on Fridays, so we took the long way around to the Washington, DC suburbs - out the Pennsylvania Turnpike to US 15 and than down through Gettysburg, Fredericksburg, and Leesburg.

Louis attracted attention, both on the road and with my relatives in Falls Church. It was a fairly relaxed set of events (my great aunt made it to 104) so I think a black Corvette was an easy topic. On the way back, we chanced it on 95 and the northern trip went pretty well.

I haven't done a Corvette road trip with my mom in quite a while (and never in the new car). It was good to have some extended time alone with her - I'm not sure how many road trips the two of us have remaining.

Get as many of those in as you can! I wish I could've taken my mom for a ride in mine, though I'll bet getting her in and out would've been an adventure ;-)

Sorry for your loss. Wow! 104. A heck of a good run.

Tonights epicurian delight comes to us inspired from it's homeland, Italy. A light tri colored rotini to be smothered in a seasoned tomato gravy, enhanced with mushrooms, onions and the finest of ground beef. Top it with a healthy topping of shredded cheeses, this pasta dish aims to please. To accompany the main course, some freshly toasted rolls smathered in butter and diced garlic. Did I mention healthy? Food that tastes delicious and provides a health benefit. Bon appetit!

Then for dessert ........... hhmmmm.

Jeb is pretty cool for a politician. He lived in the neighborhood I worked in and I saw him frequently. He's really just a normal kind of guy. OJ lived in that same neighborhood. LOL. He was NOT a normal kind of guy.
