aw chit special technique..more like gm robbery..so kin a guy git by using low profile ramps n run front up n drop plug then use jack in rear n raise to git all oil out , then lower n go bo back up front pull filter n replace plug n new filter? realy ain gotta lift all four corners n such right..any insite be preciated

Just like you said, Pappy. Low profile ramps (you can make your own from 2x12s, let it drain, then jack the rear and let it drain some more.

hey i read sumwere 97 c5 take 6.5 qts oil..when i checked it she were bout qt low n at 39% but since new ta me i dumped n changed it filled wid 6.5 qts run a bit let set n she reads 1 qt low..any insite here??? do some run 7-7.5 qts?

Nope. 6.5 always with stock set up.

well no real answer on this one yet..been sittin a week n still ony at bottum of hash (to me qt low) but do have 6.5 in her n po sez dont know never touched dipstick , ony drove 1k a year n aways had gm do oil every spring..ain sure waht ill do there ..wrote miles n mabee make a mark on stick n treat it like n ol hog...dif oil bags dif sticks ya simply measure n mark it yerself ya know..mabee actauly git ta run it here soon finally quit rainy snoweee chit...

Silly question - are you sure the dipstick is fully seated on the tube?

yes sir,,i evin eye balled up the plastic end etc makin sure ain loose er pullin up so ta speak...oil is jus ta de add mark (like i would like to see at the full mark)mabee a touch over add mark

sumbeeyuch fellas ,,same story as i wrote befoe on oil change..1st yea i did wait 2 yrs ony had 2k on oil but gonna be 3rd yr so i dumped healthy lookin oil in fear of acid,,but same issue as above very carefully measured 6.5 includin fillin filter n she still reads qt low..started sid 8 qts have 1/2 qt left n now reads full..maybee one a yous bruthas will measure yer c5 dipstcik fer this dipstick to compare heyhuh...oh n liftun her from side n grabin plug then lower it to drain n raise rear a touch since anal,,but way faster then ramps n all that chit....but still dipstick reads 7.5 to fill..woot wooot woooot mabee soon ill be runnin it again ifn weather straightuns out

hey bog ,,nope finally warm here now ifn kin git it ta stop rainin id be runnin this c5 ...ended up wid 7 -7.25 qts to fill to dipstick full line..did measure dipstick so ifn any c5 ers wid measure theres...now fer yous ladys dont go measurin husbands i mean oil dipstick
