A rather boring honk, but it should be loud and clear.

It should work with key on or off....

On the trailer and ready for tomorrow. Since traffic is so bad here - I just loaded everything up tonight and will drag it to work with me tomorrow.... that way I can leave right from work and head straight to the race track.

Hopefully the new half shafts and new U Joints hold together and I'll have something to brag about.

Good luck this evening!! Look forward to hearing how it runs. FWIW you really should paint that car a different color. Maybe red? White just dosnt look good on corvettes.

I agree, good luck with keeping it together.

But have to disagree with 93ragtop, I love the white.

Well the rear end held together.... but the TH350 broke about half track. Not cool sliding to a stop from 80mph.

Will have to get the tranny out and see what broke for sure but right now looks like a sprag.

Well Guys
The builder got my TH350 apart and looks like it torched all the clutches and the band. Major damage to the Forward Drum as well, so it will need to be replaced.

Good news is the case is still OK and for whatever reason it already had the (expensive) modified Direct Drum with a 32 element sprag. So that will save me about $250-$300 on this rebuild.

Tranny should be done by this weekend.

Now even MORE bad news.....

Whilst the tranny was out, I thought this would be a prime oportunity to pull the D44 and install some polyurethane bat wing bushings and since the rear end was out of the car, and watching how the reacted in the video, I thought this would be a good time to pull the cover and check everything out just for GP since it did just lock up a tranny and slide to a stop from 80mph or so....

Found a broken cap on the drivers side, so this housing is JUNK. Oddly the posi and gears all are still totally fine.

I have located a replacement D44 housing and I have $700 worth of 3.90 gears, brgs and a SPOOL at my dads shop. As soon as I have possession of the housing I'm going to ship it down there and my brother is going to assemble it for me, then bring it up here and help me and 93 ragtop put the car back together... hopefully before the first points race May 10....

If we can not get the 84 ready in time, I am going to take the 92 or maybe 93 ragtop's car up there and get my doors blown off just to get start points.

Have video of that VERY costly pass here.

http://s50.photobucket.com/user/rkles ... 1714_zps91f10bd6.mp4.html

You can see the car spins the right rear tire really bad on the hit (note drivers side tire wrinkles at first but then dosen't spin).... this made me think the posi in the rear end broke... but you can see after I peddle it, get it hooked up and then get the NO2 timer turned back on - the car absolutely takes off like nothings wrong.... right up until the tranny broke.

Honestly not sure if the cap broke on the hit or when the car slide to a stop or there is the possibly that it's been broke for a long time.....

Even spinning like that it still cut a 1.39 60ft.... This car is gonna fly when we get stuff to stop breaking.
