We had another race today. Since this was a Saturday race only 2 rounds of qualifying to try and sort out my new Koni Double adjustable rear shocks.

I started out with the rebound full tight (at 2 sweeps) and the compression to 10 clicks in (12 clicks total). 16psi in the slicks.

First round I ran the left lane. The car spun the tires hard immediately.... I stayed in the gas the car eventually hooked and ran OK.

1.355 - 60ft
3.963 - 330ft
6.155 - 1/8th mile
111.94 mph

Seemed like the car never reacted or did anything but spin, so I decided to soften up the rear shock compression and drop some air pressure.... I dropped my tire pressure to 14psi and dropped the shock compression -3 clicks (to 7 clicks). Left the rebound alone.

Second round I had to run the right lane. The car left really good. The pass was clean putting me 7th on the field again. BTW this was a new personal best for the car at this track and I managed to cut a light on and out run the baddest car in the class...

1.278 - 60ft
3.839 - 330ft
6.029 - 1/8th mile
112.05 mph

Cutting that light and beating the Mustang in qualifying, I was feeling pretty good about my chances in eliminations.... but I got put in the left lane and the car spun the tires again... not as bad as in qualifying and I actually had the lead until the other guy trucked around me at the 200ft mark and flat left me for dead.

1.314 - 60ft
3.912 - 330ft
6.103 - 1/8th mile
112.05 mph

Next race is July 20something.... I plan to have my new progressive NO2 controller installed, air shifter installed and a bigger pill in the plate kit.

It's tough running against these guys. This is my first year back in real racing full time and I knew comming in that I was down on HP compared to most of these guys. I kinda thought I'd be a better driver but this .400 Pro Tree has been kicking my ass and it's taking a while to get my brain adjusted to seeing all 3 yellow's go at the same time...

We typically have 8-10 cars in the feild. It would be nice to have a full 16 car ladder. That would help me out with maybe not having to run the number 2 or 3 qualifier in the first round every race....

But you just never know what will happen in racing. In second round qualifying the fastest car in the class spun and I was able to beat him. That could happen any time in eliminations.... in fact it did happen in first round this week but I was too slow on the tree and my car spun a little as well, so I just wasn't able to take advantage.

For what I have in the car I am very happy. It would be nice to get it to run 5's all the time in it's current state. I really think the new progressive NO2 controller is going to get me there. The new rear shocks have been a god send... just being able to keep the car from unloading the rear end this week helped me run the fastest the car has ever gone on this tune up.

I have some plans for the car next year. As long as things keep going like they have been and I don't damage something REAL expensive I'll be able to upgrade the engine and the cage for next season.

I like racing this class. Everybody is super nice, the fans love seeing regular looking street cars run so fast and even loosing to a way faster car in the first round is better than bracket racing where I can loose to a way slower car....

Thanks for the support guys. Next race is July 20.

Pretty nice PIC of my car at launch taken by one of the photography guys at the event.

http://tmkphoto.com/site/galleries/75 ... -ya-brung-6162013/page/26

You can see also Elsie behind the car taking the video I posted above...

She is a big help getting the car loaded/unloaded, setting up the pit area, she directs me in the water box and out into groove during staging.

Then she brakes out the camera and takes video so I can analyze the launches and decide what to do to the shocks, tire pressure or engine tune up.

She also assist me with maintaining the car when adjusting the valves and when setting the fuel pressure on the nitrous side.

I rarely mention her contribution to the effort and you can bet this stuff would way more difficult without her help.
