I just picked up - er, recieved via UPS - a Kenwood Excelon X797. Call it my birthday present to me...

Got it from Crutchfield... and nailed it as an open box, too, same warrantee, just $20 cheaper!

The Alpine I had was aging out... and I wanted HD radio...

This head has, built in:

* HD Radio
* Bluetooth
* iPod/iPhone
* Sat Radio
* 6 preouts, 4V

I wired it up tonight... and it sounds NICE. Very clear. I am very impressed.

You'll like it. I've always been a HUGE fan of the Kenwood Excelon line. I have them in all my cars.

Kenwood has what some call 'complicated' menus and while yes they do take a little comprehension to understand...for an educated person they make a lot of sense.

Take pics when you install it.

it's half in right now... I need to get a new soldering iron so I can finish the harness and button up the dash board.

I also need to call Sirius... my universal sat receiver should work with this radio, but the cable won't plug in...

Otherwise, this is a huge step forward for Kenwood. Very impressed. And a real value - open box, free shipping and no sales tax, it was only $175!!!
