... that Lauren finally made it from a BMW dealer in Salem, OR to the east coast. Ivelis and I met the driver of the open storage transporter (I couldn't justify paying for a closed transporter at that point) at an exit on Interstate 476. Here's a picture of him unloading the car:

... we were really excited, but totally unprepared. I hadn't even thought to bring cleaning supplies and the 1985 was, of course, really dirty.

It was getting toward dusk and I didn't even know how to turn the headlights on - luckily, the semi driver showed me. I blundered home the ten miles or so, following Ivelis in our Chrysler 300M. Here's the first picture taken after we got the car home:

... once we got home, I spent a couple of hours cleaning the car up. The photo below is as close to a beauty shot as there is from that first day (I believe it's the one I sent to the relevant folks):

... less than a month later, I met Andy for the first time at a Gordon Killabrew school in Delaware. At this point, the 1985 (not yet named) had gotten an alignment and new tires, but not much else. Take a look at many of these still relatively modern C4s, circa April 2004:

... fast forward to today. There's still a lot of snow and ice on the roads in my area, so driving Lauren wasn't in the cards. I brought the lift down, put on the new registration sticker, and inflated the tires to the proper pressure. Lauren started right up and I left her on to warm the oil. Here's a picture of her blasting Little Red Corvette on the Bose through the Monster cassette adaptor from my iPhone:

You can tell she has a happy home. My 90 will be with me 12 years next month. I get the same joy out of it today as I did the first day I turned the key. Unfortunately it doesn't see as much road time as it once did since I can go days without going more than a mile from my house. That's what my work trucks are for. Happy anniversary Lauren and many, many more.

wow...how did I miss this thread?

Congrats, John! It's amazing how fast 10 years blows by.

If I am not mistaken, you're 85 was parked next to JPorter's 93. Mine was off to the side somewhere.
