Sold the beast last week, today is day 6 without it...

Definitely mixed feelings- I'll admit to a brief 'moment' as the new owner drove away, but somewhat excited to be able to focus on my race car project and start some road course racing.

If I'm honest the beast wasn't one thing or the other- not practical for daily use and being a convertible not really a track car. Nevertheless I put my heart at soul into that car and it's taking some adjusting.

I'm looking long and hard at maybe trading the caged Nissan for a 2004 Z06 that I could drive on the street and road course occasionally. Plus see if the Z06 is able to get some drifting done at my son's practice sessions. Long term I'm not sure what my future holds in terms of 'grown man toys'... We may be moving to the beach next year so maybe I'll switch my focus to boat(s). I'm told by boat owners that a boat is better described as a "floating bucket that you pour your salary into". Like the 'vette, then... :-)

I'll still be on here enjoying the daily chat, mainly lurking, and looking forward to Fridays.

Cheers all

Sorry to hear? Not sure what the emotion is, either. As long as you are satisfied, then that's what matters!

The adage I have heard about boats is "a hole in the water you throw money into". the same, really.

Drifting is an interesting sport, but it seems so abusive to hardware... not sure about it yet, really. I am impressed with the control, tho.

Are you thinking of heading towards Savannah or down to Brunswick area? I assume you would stay along the Empire Coast, right? I do like that area, very pretty. But can be muggy and buggy. A very old and dear friend works as a tour guide to the various islands, plantations, lighthouses, things like that, in the Brunswick area.

OH YEAH, A HOLE IN THE WATER, SURROUNDED BY FIBERGLASS, INTO WHICH YOU POUR MONEY.

The two best days of owning a boat are the day you buy it and the day you sell it.......that's what we say around here......

I've owned my boat for 25 years and don't know what you're all talking about. Did a major overhaul 14 years ago that cost me 5 G's. But in reality ant pet projects/hobbies cost money. If you want to play you gotta pay.

I understand your mixed feelings on the sale. When you find what you're looking for you'll know. The nagging have to have it feeling will consume you and logic will leave to replaced by pure desire. At least that's what happens to me. Next thing you know there's something new to you outside or inside of your dwelling.
