DTC = diagnostic trouble code

http://www.corvettebuyers.com/c4vettes/ecm.htm

So....

33 MAF (I think high)
34 MAF (I think low)
41 cylinder select circuit
42 EST circuit
55 engine lean

Have you done any work lately?

I am on my phone, I will have to go over these in depth later.

Using my Autoxray for codes.
This started last time my son borrowed my vet. Ecm is 6 months old. Haven't had a chance to check it

Great cheat sheet.
Will have time tomorrow. Wanted to start on exhaust.

Thanks

I know *sometimes* the aftermarket scanners give false codes.

Rescan it with a paperclip and report back.

What's the model year?
L98 I would think ECM, LT1 rather defective Opti-Spark, unless you got a weak battery.

check the MAF... once it starts throwing codes, all bets are off.

Also, make sure the chips are properly seated in their sockets.

Didn't want to crank appears had a weak battery. Quick charge fires up. Checked MAF sensor cleaned it up. Would idle at 700 and after a few idled at 1400. Before clean MAF.
Checked for air leaks on Super Ram. May be hose from Throttle body to valve covers or I may get to use my new Laser cut gaskets. New there was a reason I ordered 2 sets and was thing about buying two more sets. They sure were cheap.
Thank Scott
will be ordering more soon.

a weak battery will add to this.

Make sure the connections on the battery are good, and that the ground strap is good. Also, check the ground points under the car... same with the starter...

I know your engine is fresh, so it should be dry, but if there is a leak, it will raise hell with things.

I am going to pull the top of the super ram and tighten the
bolts from the top. I picked up two cans yesterday.
I am glad I slotted the top of the bolts it will be easier to get to the inner ones. Lots of places to look

Found about 5 more places idle stays constant now. Will check computer tomorrow if I get out of the school carnival early. Code light still on. haven't rechecked codes yet.
Maybe Saturday when Stacy and I get back from the dog shoe.

Reset them now that the leaks are fixed and see how it runs. You can still check the grounds and battery voltage for S&Gs.

Are you using the scanner or paperclip to determine no codes?

Can you scan it with a laptop and winaldl while running to see what is going on?

Found a thread I used from gear head that worked before .
should work on fixing the problem

Cable Installation to TunerPro RT

Download the newest TunerPro RT software from this link.
http://www.tunerpro.net/downloadApp.htm

Plug your cable into laptop, no need for vehicle, and go to Control Panel, Device Manager, find the com port number and check driver. Should be:
Driver FTDI
Date 4/10/2012
Version 2.08.14 has been working for all. 2.8.24.0 has worked for a lot. Anything higher could have issues!!! If you'd like to read up on it check this post and thread that started the diagnostics to find the issue with drivers.

http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...ll=1#post26827

Do the same for the USB Serial Converter.

Open TunerPro RT and go to Tools, Preferences, Data Acquisisition/Emulation, Choose Use Plug in, configure plug in and make sure it is on the correct Comm port, Test for Valid Interface using settings... with cable plugged in.

So with cable plugged in you found it in device manager as Com port 3, drivers are correct, TunerPro is set to Comm 3 and tests good? Don't worry it does not test good connected to vehicle.

With TunerPro open click View, Toolbars and check them all, these icons are easier to learn then all the others under like Acquisition, Tools etc...

Click Acquisition Load Definition File and choose your ADX for data looging.

Connect cable to vehicle, vehicle running, TunerPro running and Acquisition Start/Stop Data scan or click on the 2 arrows icon up top, also click on the folder icon or Acquisition Show Data Lists and data should show... this is how I do it and then click record, when you stop recording it will prompt you to save the file with a name.

*LAST RESORT BUT NOT DANGEROUS!*
Or uninstall all USB in device manager and restart, let it install what's on laptop, then first thing to plug in is cable and make sure the above drivers are installed.
*End last resort for drivers*

Ok, if that doesn't work remember that there are sometimes other COM ports. When I use tuner pro, it uses one com port for my cable and a different com port for my chip burner. So you might try switching com ports.

Matt beat me to it...

Maybe check for smooth impedance of pot in TPS too. Got some snappics of that somewhere here...

Maybe MAF filament is fouled? Do you do K&N up front? Too much oil can foul the filament.

http://www.corvetteforum.guru/modules ... e=&topic_id=18993&forum=1

Never mind my guesswork notes on TPS function; don't know much on it.

There is no code 19. Fuel pump codes are 53/54 on our cars. I don't think your scan tool is reading correctly, like I mentioned earlier in the posts.

Did you get the TPS set? Not sure why it's so much trouble. Just lightly unscrew the bolts on the side of the throttle body and gently tap it either direction to get it in range.

It can be difficult sometimes to use the voltmeter and set the tps because you almost need 3 hands. I would recommend hooking up the laptop with datamaster, setting it on top of the intake, and watching the values as you adjust it. Otherwise use backprobe pins if you have them, but I doubt you do, which is why I recommended the laptop.

What is so irritating is I have set the TPS on many vehicles and for some reason May be the meter never had a problem with it before .I have never used Data Master to do this. Looks like this will be the first time Thanks for the advice
What you see in pictures is what is on this corvette. Set it the first try without a problem using multimeter. TPS tool from a friend will also be Friday.

Ìf the TPS is installed like pictured, you've got a wrong set up! Zhe TPS link is currently above the hook but it belongs below.

Good catch, Axel. The tps should move with the throttle body blades. Move the blades forward using the linkage on the opposite side and see if the tps changes accordingly. Should run from .54v with blades closed to approximately 4.5v with blades open (wot).
