I agree good eye in picture. Dust storm in our area right now may last a couple days. Praying for rain. Vet covered in garage until dust storm blows over.

Using a new multimeter and test tool from mid America best reading throttle closed I could get was .01.no change when throttle open. what volts should be from the connector wire unplugged from the sensor. .01 is what I get the bottom connector reads 5.01 Are my settings on meter correct
is the plug bad . I have an extra plug. When I have time tomorrow I will connect Datamaster and check that way

As far as the wiring, ground wire is 0 and the reference (power) wire is 5 volts. The other wire will fluctuate with the tps movement.

This is not a corvette, but a good read on how to check tps:

You need to check the wire from harness to ecm for a break/open. Check the harness to make sure a plug didn't pop out.

Haven't found any wire breaks or problems yet. I had a fire 3 years ago so double checking these is fun as I had to patch many wires.

ECM under warranty will be here Tuesday . It has a funny odor to it . Price just changed from 67 to 120 the old supplier had to many returns. Ya you guessed PEP Boys.

Fsm should tell you which wire going in to the ecm is from the tps.

From Cliff Harris explaining the rough running in 10K problem to me
Some scan tools and cables put a 10K resistor across the A & B pins of the ALDL connector. In some cases there is a switch to take this resistor out of the circuit. In Diacom the switch is electronic and I can put it in or take it out.

Thanks Cliff just read this explains the rough running

From the shop manual (10K mode):

• Closed loop timers are bypassed
• EST (spark) is advanced
• IAC will control engine idle to 1000 RPM ± 50 RPM
• On some engines, canister purge solenoid will be enabled
• P/N restrict functions will be disabled

I am using Moates extreme with the switch for 10k
I log in 10k
I thought this video was a good reminder on checking wires

Well put the new ecm in lol
cooling fan clicks on/ won't shut off lol
engine cranks starts to fire. lol
I will never buy Pep Boys crap again.
I called the parts dept they do not deal with the vender my ecm came from to many returns. Lol
As a kid we always said at Pep Boys just go back until they give you the part that works.

Will use this weekend to search for problem or go to Pismo beach and play with the dogs

I would look on ebay for a used ECM, you can find them under $50. The same ECM was used in the S10, etc, so they are out there. You are just swapping out the chips anyway.

As far at the 10k resistor, that has nothing to do with your TPS problems, which is why I didn't comment on it initially.

Chuck, he has that little harness you connect in to check the tps. Steve said he has power to the tps but no power at the ecm for position.

Steve -

I am no expert with datamaster. I am not sure if that warning is because you are not on the right port, not using the right selection for your year, or because the ECM is in fact bad.

Did you trace the wire at the ECM connector to see if it is getting a signal from the TPS? That is step 1.

My guess only way you could get the "no PCM" error is if there is no data coming out on ALDL pin E.

The SES light work? It's controlled by the ECM so if it's working the ECM must be at least partially functional

No signal to c13
5v to c14 hot

New ecm in got signal from wire. Set tps .54. Fan did not come on and stay on happy. Did not want to fire. Taking a break will recheck everything in an hour.
