Good Morning CGs!

Chilly now, should make it up to 27* today. This weekend they are calling for rain but 50 degree temps so that makes it ok.

Been looking on CL for some snow tires and rims for the DD. Unfortunately the Audi has a somewhat uncommon tire size, and they hard to find a used set. The tire size is used on some Mercedes/BMWs, but the rim offset is different, so I have found several nice sets for a good deal with the wrong rims. And everyone thinks their stock 2000 Audi curb rashed wheels are worth $500. Crazy. Oh well, keep looking. Patience and persistence.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good morning gang.

A little warmer here today but not my much. More snow but maybe only an inch or so.

Not a lot happening other than that.

PSA. If you have frozen turkeys get them in the fridge today or tomorrow so they will be thawed by next week.

Word of the year for 2014.

Today is NATIONAL ABSURDITY DAY

National Absurdity Day is celebrated annually on November 20.

This day was created as a day to recall and note some of the totally and absolutely absurd things in history, in our country and in our lives.

National Absurdity Day is also a day to have fun and do crazy, zany and absurd things. Everyone has an excuse today to let the absurd antics that are hidden inside of them out. You can do things that you have wanted to do that make absolutely no sense at all and it will be okay because you will be celebrating National Absurdity Day.

Have fun today but remember to be careful and be safe!

NATIONAL ABSURDITY DAY HISTORY

Our research was unable to find the creator of National Absurdity Day, an “unofficial” national holiday.

NATIONAL PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE DAY

Peanut butter lovers and fudge lovers can come together today to celebrate as November 20 is National Peanut Butter Fudge Day.

On June 16, people across the United States celebrated National Fudge Day and today, they will all celebrate as they did then however, they will have the yummy taste of peanut butter as the fudge flavor and star of the show.

See: http://nationaldaycalendar.com/2014/0 ... -2014-national-fudge-day/

Fudge originated in the United States.

Enjoy one of the following “tried and true” peanut butter fudge recipes:

GREAT AMERICAN SMOKEOUT DAY

Each year on the third Thursday in November, the American Cancer Society sponsors the Great American Smokeout.

This is an annual social engineering event to encourage Americans to stop tobacco smoking. The Great American Smokeout challenges smokers to stop smoking cigarettes for 24 hours with the hopes that this decision will continue on forever.

Evolving from a series of small scale initiatives, the first Great American Smokeout was held on November 16, 1977 in San Francisco’s Union Square.
◦1970 – Randolph, Massachusetts – Arthur P. Mullaney suggested people give up cigarettes for a day donating the money to a local high school.
◦1974 – Monticello, Minesota – Lynn R. Smith of the Monticello Times promoted a “Don’t Smoke Day”.
◦1976 – November 18, The California Division of the American Cancer Society successfully prompted nearly one million smokers to quit for the day.

Join millions of other smokers today and participate in the Great American Smokeout.

Buörrie árrade!

Indeed, someone with super powers needs to merge the threads. Meanwhile, I'd better stock up on windshield washer fluid, as now they're saying it could be near 40 this weekend. Sadly, it won't last (neither the fluid nor the warmer temps).

Have a good day, yawlz!

Long day yesterday almost lost my dog yesterday. He ate something that had toxins that had him falling to the ground . He looks better after going to the vet.

Morning guys....Been a busy morning again. I had 14 middle schoolers out in the shop trying to cut their fingers off with the bandsaw, that kept me on my toes for an hour. Then had the entire advanced woodworking class working on getting doors glued together for Marcus' cabinets and finishing up with the outsides of them too. I think we're going to make the deadline without too much of my weekend used for it. Which by the way just got shorter as my BIL's mother passed away yesterday in surgery having a heart valve replaced, and they are looking at Saturday for the funeral.

Steve, glad you got the dog to the vet and he's on the mend. Matt, hope you can find the tires and wheels you need. Brad, they are saying 50's for us over the weekend too. I hope they are right.

Busy as heck with wraps again today - people must have deep pockets last month and this month for stuff like that. Other shop is closed tomorrow, they're going to see the grandkids so I will probably be back in here to make up for being off this coming Thanksgiving. Our new Kroger super duper huge mega store just opened, plan on hitting that this weekend, they supposedly have clothes and everything. Any one else have one of those?
