Good morning gang.

Cold here this morning and is going to stay that way I feel till spring.

We found out via face book that one of our kids was in an accident last night and seems to be doing fine. The wife will call later today to get the details. That is one phone call we would not have minded taking in the middle of the night.

One week till Christmas. Hope all your shopping is done as Saturday is the busiest shopping day of the year.

Let's get going.

Word of the Day Thursday, December 18, 2014

beforetime \ bih-FAWR-tahym, -FOHR- \, adverb;

1. Archaic. formerly.

Origin:

Beforetime comes from the Middle English bifor time . It entered English in the late 1300s.

Today is FREE SHIPPING DAY

Free Shipping Day is an annual one-day event held in mid-December. On this promotional holiday, consumers get to shop from large and small online merchants that are offering free shipping with a guarantee of delivery by Christmas Eve.

This year Free Shipping Day will be held on December 18, 2014. There will be up to 1,000 participating merchants offering free shipping on in-stock items in the Continental USA. Merchant is responsible for delivery promise.

For more information and a list of participating merchants, see: http://www.freeshippingday.com/

NATIONAL RE-GIFTING DAY

Each year on the Thursday before Christmas people across the United States celebrate National Re-gifting Day. This day was chosen in honor of office parties and the unique Christmas gift exchange that they do. This particular December Thursday appears to be the most common day for companies to hold their annual employee/company Christmas party.

As a method of recycling, approximately 14%, of those surveyed, believe that re-gifting is becoming more popular, for that reason alone.

Bore da!

The week is flying by, not sure where the time has gone. There's plenty to be done, and not enough time to do it. Been that way as long as I can remember.

Have a good one, Gurus!

Very cool pic my colleague took of the Landmark Center across the street from our office - he took it through a crystal ball:

Morning guys....MSers are quietly messing around on their iPads, as we have finished up in the shop, the shop is clean and this is the last day I'll see these kids. Next semester I start over with new ones, so I'm giving them the day.

Cold and moist this morning. Woke up to lots of sirens. got to school and found out there was an accident on the river bridge south of town, which has blocked the bridge and sent all traffic around, a twenty minute detour. I'm guessing the bridge was frozen over with the moisture we had last night. I do hope that everyone involved is OK.

I have one final to give later today, shouldn't be too bad.

Brad, my question about the pickup, Why? Different, but kind of stupid, IMO

Snowed here about an inch last night....who knew? I should probably start looking at the weather forecasts.....er......forcasters but they don't look like the ones down in Florida or California.........

Getting to be the slow time as we head into Christmas......farmers just take some time off till the first of the year then it gets busy again.

I got an email that they sent my Corvette parts so at least they are on the way. I have to put them under the tree and get to open them Christmas morning...

Have a safe day Guru's.....

Well it is day 3 of hack and cough. Today I entered the scratchy throat / achy chest phase. I sure hope this clears quickly.

Cold day today, looking for a high right around freezing.
Oh well, it is that time of year just a few more days until the winter solstice then the days will slowly start getting longer. Before you know it Punxatawny Phil will make his annual appearance.

Starting to get annoyed with this "invalid post" crap that makes me sigh out then back in.

Out the door at 06:45 on a delivery run to Key Biscayne, home of the Ryder Cup, Lipton Cup, Nextel Cup or whatever the hell Cup they call it now. They have some nice beaches, bicycle friendly roadways, golf, a marina, and a host of other outdoor activities. This will impress BillH. It has one of the top 10 sandy beaches in the U.S. of A. This took me 4 hours round trip and it's on the south side of Miami. Only maybe 40 miles away. During peak traffic was a crawl.

Washed most of the carport yesterday. I'll finish it up today and start cleaning up the back patio area. Pressure washing and thorough dust eradication program will be in full effect. It's a semi annual major clean up effort ...... That's right ..... effort. After the winter clean up and Chuanamis/Chistica party I hope to take a few days to myself. HOPE, there is always hope. Of in the distance I saw a cruise ship at dock while crossing the causeway onto Key Biscayne. Whenever I see a ship readying for a voyage I always wish I was boarding. I couldn't cruise all the time but at several times a year would be nice. About 100 days till my next departure. Then I'll start planning my Fall boarding. Who wants to go?

Sue celebrates Hanukkah (never can spell that right). 8 days of Hanukkah means 8 gifts. Yesterday I regave her a spotlight/flashlight we bought last week. This morning I walked into the gas station and picked up todays gift, a can of starting fluid. I handed it to her and wished her a Happy Hanukkah. She looked at me, smiled and said ...... @$$#0!~

Ahhh... a beach... how I dream of being on one right now....
Dull day at work, trying to look busy. Cold here too and it rained/sleeted here last night. Have done no Christmas shopping, have the one in the nursing home I'll get something for, although I'm not sure what. Ordered some coffee baskets for an aunt and two other cousins.

Got all the tests I have received graded and recorded. Tomorrow should be a fairly easy day.

Just about time to go to the faculty lunch, lots of goodies to stuff myself with. Crap, I don't really need to, or should stuff myself though. I'll try to contain myself.
