Is that a recent pic or one from back in the day? Back in the day it would not have been unusual to see that. Mine sat outside all the time especially when I was in college. Today that is considered almost sinful to see those Sting Rays being neglected.....wonder if they are for sale? No car covers on them either....

They were new when this picture was taken.

Every weekend I drove my 63 from Chambersburg, Pa. back to college in Williamsport, Pa. on the lovely salt covered Pa. roads.

It was also parked on a snow bank in Williamsport while I changed a rear wheel bearing in that snow bank.

I find it interesting how our view of these cars changes as they pass from being daily drivers. Even with the 1985, I've heard shock from people when I mention that folks used to routinely drive early C4s in the snow and somehow survived ...

Must admit, my 64 was pretty squirrelly in the snow and on icy roads. But it was my one and only car at the time, so I had no choice. With all the nannies on the modern cars, I'm thinking it would be not too bad to drive them in a little snow. That 64 liked to swap which end was going forward on ice.

So, Bill, you've done rear wheel bearings on mid-years before. How does it compare to the "old days".

Drove my C4 in everything - had to it was the only car I had..
that stopped when I caught myself a boyfriend with a big truck about the same time I slid downhill backwards in that thing...

Two Midyears sitting in the snow. One says to the other "Snow is cold" to which the other replied "Deep too!".

That is a great pic. And it has aged most gracefully.

Better in a garage than a snow bank.

Trips in the snow with the 63 were no different than with my 56 Chev.

I've driven the C4 over Donner Summit in the snow but it was only 3 in. deep.
