Good morning gang.

We had a little bit of snow yesterday. Only about 2 inches.

Should be cold here with temps getting in the mid 20's. Mojo to those in the north east.

Hope ya found that plug wire Marcus.

On with today.

Word of the day is subrogate

Today is NATIONAL SPOUSES DAY

National Spouses Day is celebrated annually o January 26th. National Spouse’s Day is dedicated to recognizing spouses of everywhere; from being thankful for fulfillment and security of a long-term relationship, to the boost of morale and well-being provided by spouses. This day is a time to show your spouse that you care and appreciate all of the things that he/she does for you and for the home. Over time, it is often easy to take for granted the many things your spouse does. They are always there and do many things in the daily routine, so why not take National Spouses Day to say thank you. Spouses day is a non gift giving day. This is a day to find small ways to let your other half know that he or she is appreciated. There are many small ways to make Spouses Day special for the love of your life. Maybe you can use this day to say I love you multiple times.

If it has been a while since you have expressed appreciation to the one with whom you are married, now is your chance. Again, this day is not about giving gifts but spend time together and enjoy each other. This is the perfect opportunity to say thank you either in words or in some other special way.

SPOUSES DAY HISTORY

It is yet to be discovered by whom or when Spouses day was created.

NATIONAL PEANUT BRITTLE DAY

National Peanut Brittle Day is celebrated annually on January 26th. According to Wikipedia, Peanut brittle is the most popular brittle recipe in the US. The term brittle first appears in print in 1892, though the candy itself has been around for much longer.

Traditionally, a mixture of sugar and water is heated to the hard crack stage corresponding to a temperature of approximately 300 °F (149 °C), although some recipes also call for ingredients such as corn syrup and salt in the first step. Nuts are mixed with the caramelized sugar. At this point spices, leavening agents, and often peanut butter or butter are added. The hot candy is poured out onto a flat surface for cooling, traditionally a granite or marble slab. The hot candy may be troweled to uniform thickness. When the brittle cools, it is broken into pieces.

I thought every day was National Spouse's Day.

Ring ............ Ring .............

The month has flown by and if this month is any indicator of the year ahead, we're in for a very good year. Heading to the vets later this morning for some blood work on Precious. She had a pretty good weekend here at home. She's eating and drinking. Let's see what her blood says. Had a nice visit with a couple we know from Ohio yesterday. They're down for a couple of months to go fishing and relax in the Florida Keys. They say there are only 4 things to do in the Keys. Eat, drink, fish and f@(%. That's pretty much the truth.

Yesterday I was looking for my belt. I looked at the clothes rack and I had 3 belts there but not the one I was looking for. Ah the hell with it. I'll wear one of these other belts. Went to put it through the pant loops and it wouldn't go. It appears I was wearing the belt I was looking for all along.

Good morning, all. Burning a vacation day today - use it or lose it!

Ivelis and I are still really happy about the GTLM win yesterday at Daytona. She had me go out and get a bottle of champagne to celebrate.

We're on the southwestern end of the blizzard that's supposed to happen over the next day and a half. Right now, it's snowing steadily ...

THIS IS NOT A GOOD SIGN, TOMMY.

CLEAR AND COLD IN THE NATIONS TODAY, 29 ON THE FRONT PORCH SUPPOSED TO HIT 60 LATER. NO FLIES ON THAT!

BEEN WATCHING THE MINDLESS MEDIA HYPERVENTILATE OVER THE GREAT BLIZZARD TO COME. THINK OF HOW FUNNY IT WOULD BE IF IT DIDN'T HAPPEN ;-) BUT OF COURSE THEY WOULD IMMEDIATELY SHIFT TO GLOBAL WARMING CANT.

Har!!

I had a little time yesterday, so I started getting stuff ready for our trip. One of the many advantages of living here is that you can pack up your shorts at any time during the winter, safe in the knowledge that you won't need to wear them today. Meanwhile, everyone is getting settled on the new floor at the office. They've jammed twice as many people into the same amount of space we had before, so that is exciting. I imagine they'll put up one of those "take a number" things in the bathroom.

Hope you're feeling better soon, Brian!

Have a good day, all!

Morning guys...busy as usual. Tommy and Marcus, you MUST be getting old, as I've NEVER done anything like that before. I'm glad I'm not that old.

Going to be 70 here today, but the wind is blowing 20-30mph. A normal day in SW Kansas, wind wise.

Brian hope your healing goes quickly. Brad, you're right about the not needing shorts this time of the year in Minnisnowta.

Ball games tonight, tomorrow and Friday. So busy times for me this week.

Cheers to Corvette Racing for there 1st in class win, and what, about 6th or 7th overall? Pretty good showing.

Hey you guys. If you're going to throw out your Rock Auto refrigerator magnets of The Collector Cars series, you can always mail them to me. I'll collect them. Just ordered some Monroe Gas Magnums for the Yukon. Figured since I'm having all the other suspension work done might as well get some new shocks. RA kicked ass on the price of those with an average savings of $15 to $20 each compared to other parts places I checked. The savings will offset the installation charge. I'm all about savings.

Back from the game. GS #2 scored 8 in the big win. Only two towns in our county and there is always quite a rivalry when we play, whether it is middle school like today or high school coming up Friday night.
