Good morning gang.

Cold here this am temps starting out -2 and we should be getting to maybe 10.

Last day of work for me officially at my current company. Start same job same desk with new company on Monday. I may or may not be able to get the daily post started due to all the training that has to be done or just suck it up and get up earlier and post from home. We'll see.

Today is NATIONAL STRAWBERRY DAY

National Strawberry Day is annually celebrated on February 27th. Strawberry lovers everywhere enjoy this day as strawberries are appreciated for their characteristic aroma, bright red color, juicy texture, and sweet taste.

Strawberries are enjoyed by millions in many different ways. They can be eaten fresh by themselves, in fruit salads or in prepared foods such as jams, preserves or juices. The first garden strawberry was grown in France during the late 18th century. Prior to this, wild strawberries and cultivated selections from wild strawberry species were the common source of the fruit.

NATIONAL KAHLUA DAY

February 27th celebrates National Kahlua Day. This day was created as a day for those, over the age of 21, to recognize and enjoy this creamy rich alcoholic liqueur. To celebrate, you may want to use Kahlua, a coffee-flavored rum-based liquor, to flavor your ice cream or another dessert such as cheesecake or cake. Other options would be to add it to your coffee or cocoa for a nice after dinner drink, add it to cold milk or cream or drink it on the rocks, straight up or mixed with a cocktail.

Kahlua is made from coffee beans therefore it does contain a
small amount of caffeine.

* Pedro Domecq began producing Kahlua in 1936.
* In 1994, the company merged with Allied Lyons forming Allied Domecq.
* In 2005, Allied Domecq was partially acquired by Pernod Ricard which merged with the Swedish Vin & Sprit (V & S Group) in March of 2008.

NATIONAL POLAR BEAR DAY

National Polar Bear Day, also known as International Polar Bear Day is celebrated on February 27th. It is a day to learn more about the polar bear.

Polar bears can reach a height of 9 ft tall and a weight of 1400 pounds. They have large front paws, which are slightly webbed, that are used to paddle as they swim. As they are very strong swimmers, some polar bears have been seen swimming hundreds of miles from land, however, some of the distance may have been covered by floating on sheets of ice.

The polar bears have a warming layer of fat which is covered by their thick coat of insulating fur. This helps them live in the colder environments.

There are organizations that use this day to raise awareness of the declining number of polar bears worldwide. It is believed, by many, that these beautiful creatures are threatened due to global warming and the consequential loss of their natural habitat. Groups, around the world, gather together to find ways to make a difference and spread information to others.

So the bartender says, "That'll be twenty dollars."

The bear forks over the money and starts drinking his Kahlua.

After a few minutes, the bartender can't restrain his curiosity, so he walks back over to the bear and tries to strike up a conversation.

"You know, we don't get many bears in this bar."

The bear looks up from his Kahlua and says, "Well, at twenty bucks a drink, I'm not surprised."

A woman walks into a bar with a polar bear on a leash. A drunk at the end of the bar looks up and shouts, "Hey, you can't bring that pig in here." The woman looks snootily at the drunk and says, "This, sir, is a bear, not a pig" to which the drunk replies, "I was talking to the bear."

A bear and a rabbit are both s#!++ing in the woods. The bear turns to the rabbit and says, "Do you have a problem with poop sticking to your fur?" The rabbit says no, so the bear picks him up and wipes his ass with the rabbit.

Im sicker that a dog today.....sore throat and stuffed up....Im headed to the Doc in a few minutes.....

Ran out of milk so put half and half on my cereal this morning.....whoa was that good....it was either the half and half or the heavy whipping cream......i took the healthy route.....

Well number two daughter got a job as assistant manager at a Target store in Seattle......geez now that is both daughters up in that area.....luckily Alaska airlines has a non stop from Omaha to Seattle.....we will be regulars on that it looks like.....

Well better clean up for the Doc......oh yeah....bought another Semi yesterday....that would make 3 of them now.....I'm having it checked out and an oil analysis done before writing the check. T-800 KW with 525 hp Cummings and an 18 speed......its a 99 but really looks nice. Its a local truck and the dealer has all the service records.......big wheels just keep on turning.....

JUST HEARD MY TENNESSEE COUSIN RUFUS DIED IN AN INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT. HE FELL INTO A VAT OF WHISKEY. CO-WORKERS TRIED TO RESCUE HIM BUT THE FOUGHT THEM OFF AND DROWNED. THE FAMILY HAD HIM CREMATED AND HE BURNED FOR A DAY AND A HALF.

evening guys....I was so busy to day, when I finally got home, I sat down in my Lazy Boy and was asleep in minutes. Mike I hope that your "new" position is good to you. Marcus, I hope the Dr. was able to fix you up. Matt, vacations over, get busy. Tommy, I'm sure you have things to do. Gris, I hope you guys don't get too much snow, that it affects all those drivers. Brad, I had seen that before....maybe on TV somewhere, it is cool.
