Good Morning CGs!

Well I got the pool "opened" yesterday. I took the cover off the other day and yesterday got the pump out and all hooked up. I filled the pool up to level and checked everything as far as leaks and seems ok. I need to pick up my supply of chemicals, so that should put a $150 dent in my wallet. If it isn't one thing, it's another.

I received the rebuild parts for the power steering pump. Now I just have to do the work. Not a big deal, but I need a floor press for the shaft bearing so I'll probably do the work at my buddy's shop. No big deal, just have to find the time to do it.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Bout to head to the nursing home , goofed off all day yesterday with the new guy. Has a nice Camaro SS. Took my car flea market shopping then back here to sit out back in the shade then to his place to meet all the fur babies... That went well, two labs and three weenie dogs, ones a long haired one. Pretty cute. Visited the humane shelter of course I saw one I wanted. Yard work today if it don't rain as predicted ... Ghetto pool underway. Happy Memorial Day everyone lets not forget the reason...

Salute to my brothers and sisters that have served and my gratitude to those that gave all so I can enjoy the freedom I celebrate today.

A neighbor of mine pulled up the other day and handed me a flag. He said: "Here's a new flag. I hate to see a flagpole without a flag flying on it." Then he handed me a second flag and said: Here's a second flag. You can fly this one below it." It's a new POW MIA black flag.I thanked him and he drove away. I have a flag but is losing it's glory. The flags he gave me are all weather flags. I put them up then went out to my shed and pulled out a double 90 watt spotlight. Ran an extension cord to the lights and now the flags can fly 24/7.

Morning guys...been up since early. Went down to eat pancakes at the celebration. Free will offering for the breakfast. After that we went down to the school grounds so the kids could burn off some energy at the playgrounds.

The weather was looking good, but has, in the last half hour looking like the skies could open up and rain. I was going to take the corvette down to the car wash and spray off the dirt. I don't think it will be worth it now. The parade is set for noon, I hope it's not raining then. Little brothers class is having their 40 th reunion and they have a float.

Good story about the flag, Tommy. We've gotten a lot of positive comments from our neighbors on the patriotic bunting on the front of our house.

Got up in time to watch most of the Monaco race before I took my parents to church.

Did all the shopping yesterday so I can hunker down all afternoon today for the rest of the greatest day in four wheel motor racing. I'm expecting the C7 Z06 pace car at Indy to get a lot more than the usual attention because Jeff Gordon is driving it. In honor of that and his last Coca Cola (World) 600, we've laid in a bottle of his pretty darn good Ella Sofia Cabernet Sauvignon.

Hidey-ho!

I'm like Uncle Joe, I'm a-movin' kinda slow. Despite the truck doing the bulk of the work removing the 9 tired old junipers, I'm a little sore today. They put up a pretty good fight, and a few snapped off at the root, so I'll have some digging to do when I get a round tuit. Also, apparently smart guys wear long sleeves when tangling with junipers. Not sure what is on the agenda for today - it is raining from time to time.

Awesome flags, Tommy.

Have a great day, Gurus!

Started watching the 500, but then went out to a grand nephews' birthday party and didn't get to see the end. Who won?

They had a car show this afternoon, but I didn't get up to it because of the birthday party. They are now getting set up for the concert tonight.
