Andy, first let me say thank you for doing what you have to keep the site alive for as many years as you have. There have been a multitude of issues you have overcome to keep this place active. It's not like the good ol' days when the site was growing by leaps and bounds. I would like to bring a few things to your attention that you may or may not already know. Most of it has to do with loading the site and loading topics.

Selecting my Corvette Guru favorite site link may or may not get me to the forum. There is a long pause. Sometimes I get to the forum, sometimes get a check your connection warning, sometimes a blank page and sometimes, on rare occasions, the page loads normally. After getting to the Home page most times I have to log back in. When posting there is a long pause after hitting Submit and the post appearing. On occasion a post has been lost to the netherworld. When posting pictures I get mixed results. Sometimes a pic, sometimes a link to a pic. That's a few of the issues and I'm sure my cohorts will chime in with more. I know you are busy, Andy, and appreciate the fact that you even take the time to keep this forum afloat. I'm sure our regular posters share the same appreciation.

I am blaming it a perfect storm... an unpredictable version of the their software and Godaddy...

Godaddy is not optimized to run XOOPS...

I have a plan in motion, but it just takes time, to upgrade this mess... please be patient...

I have been working on it for a few weeks, but I need the time to do the data mapping so I can preserve what we already have.

Mine has been fine other than having to hit send a few times after a long post. And on my snarky post on here, I got a new error message of "database not found". Half of my posts on here are from an iPhone. Mostly the misspelled ones.

it is very nice... but it's expensive... vbulletin is not cheap... it's the same product used by CorvetteForum, and it's also owned by Internet Brands.

$250...

I am touched by the show of support guys... <sniff>

I would not object to a $1.00 sign up fee. That would kill off the damned spammers.

I don't need/want the money, I just think it would be a step they could not get past.

As for software, this is what I am looking at:

https://www.phpbb.com/

It is free.

Free is good as long as you don't get what you paid for.....or something like that....

We the people of the Guru will help support its continuing mission to go places that few dare to tread....like replacing a heater core on a C4......or figuring how to get out of a C6 when the battery is dead....stuff like that...

you tell us what you need Andy and we will help you get it done......

phpBB is a good piece. It's been around for a long time and has a lot of support.

I do appreciate everyones support... it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Before I go much farther, I need to map out

Oh, Marcus - to get out of a C6 with a dead battery? three ways:

1. Remove the top
2. Brick
3. Emergency door release under the seat

PEACE OUT!
