Ordering up an engine cradle to store my old engine

Site says one for a small block wouldn't fit an LT1/4 engine

Quote:
Includes standard wheels and Grade 5 fasteners. Will not fit early blocks without side motor mounts. Does not fit LT1 engines.

That true? New one on me.

Is so, what are you using?

it will... they are idiots.

all you need are a cheap set of old style motor mounts, not the new rubber cylinder things we have.

The block bosses are the same.

About $4.00 each at Rockauto. I am assuming his cradle has the bracket on it to accept the mount.

The brand is DEA and the part # is A2713.

I have the same one and it fits LTX fine. Actually pretty decent piece for how little it cost.

I had that for my L98. Decent stand. Two tips: 1) don't overtighten the bolts, they will break. 2) leave it a little loose when assembling it, then lower the motor and attach it, and then tighten it. Otherwise the holes won't line up with the block.

Thanks for the assembly tips.

The Summit one came yesterday, that was quick.

I'll find out next week when I pick up the old engine.

For that kind of $$ you can't make one, the metal required costs more than that.
