Nice and clear this morning, and a balmy 50 degrees. Could see 30's overnight this week - brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! That'll slow the lawn down. Only a few more weeks before I put the Vette away, so it came out today.

Nothing cheap out here.....got a 30 dollar parking ticket.....tried to go get it lowered but the only way that will work is in traffic court......they can get me a court date in Oct.........hmmmm.......probably just pay it.......pisses me off though......

More work on the Envoy.......the check engine light is P410 which is the dreaded air pump and valve or a dozen other things so a cash cow for the dealers......I was quoted a 1000 bucks to fix it. All it does is shoot some air into the exhaust on start up to keep the emissions correct. There are no emissions compliance out here so am thinking to just leave it........any ideas...?

Marcus, $30 for a parking ticket is pretty light. Around here it's $50-75 in most towns. Too bad about the engine code. No help with that one.

Got the kids off to school and I've been tinkering around the house and cleaning up. No real motivation right now. I'm supposed to be in the garage working on the car. After I did an oil change and brakes on the wife's car yesterday, I'm feeling lazy. The weather change is giving me a headache and I'm not in the mood to do much. Hoping a workout will pep me up.

50 to 75 dollars....???? Holy Moly I did get off easy......may not have to storm the courthouse after all........yesterday when I was in there a guy at the other window trying to get out of paying something got mad and started calling everyone F'n Nazis in his loud outdoor voice.....within seconds he was surrounded by security folks and escorted out........I turned to the woman I was working with and said.....see! that's what 30 dollar parking tickets do to people.......she was not amused........

Well, mostly done with the shower install. I have a few little odds and ends, but basically done. Need to look at the light fixture and sand the sheetrock mud a little.

Retirement reception at Rosie's office. The other nurse is retiring tomorrow. She's been there about as long as Rosie, but is 65, so she's hanging it up. As of Thursday, here new office hours are going to be 8 - 5 Tuesday-Thursday. We'll have a four day weekend, every weekend....if everything goes as planned. The county commissioners are trying to cut spending, so they aren't replacing the other nurse and figured that going to three days a week will save some too. Rosie has always been "part time", although she put 35-40 hours a week in anyway. That more than likely won't change as she'll have meetings and other things on many Mondays and Fridays.

As I was talking to the guy helping me with the plumbing this morning. he brought up a mutual friend, and I asked him what's up with him? As he has been very distant and stand-offish with me the last few years. I said, "It's like he's mad a me for some reason." He told me he's going through some financial problems and was losing his ground (farmer) and he was pissed at me because I "have the Corvette, he thinks I'm making too much money." WTF? He's got four cars, three pickups, a boat, goes on elaborate trips, member of exclusive country clubs.... and I have too much money because I have a Corvette, that I worked my a$$ off to make enough to buy. I found out 'friend' is a complete exymoron when it comes to talking about this guy.

$30 doesn't sound outrageous, Marcus.

Been rainy here all weekend and today. Took the weekend to get major house cleaning - my "fall" cleaning done. Did this at my house and the BFs house. Moved furniture, shampooed rugs, all the usual, even getting crap down off the kitchen cabinets. Got all this done, as he has surgery in the morning and will be out of commish for a couple weeks. We have to be there at 5;30 - who is ready to be cutting on folks that damned early? Might as well not even go to bed. Still chasing my tail at the graphics shop, not sure where everyone gets their money for this stuff. The motor home at the body shop is still going, I sanded and painted all the black trim pieces yesterday, light fixtures and about a dozen door handles and wipers, stuff like that while he did other stuff. Doing some vinyl work for it here at the graphics shop. I'm tired of looking at it.

Evening guys....finished up the bathroom, I think it was a great transformation. GS#2 was really excited when grandma Rosie went over this evening to look at the finished product. That ought to give you some idea how bad it was.

It was much cooler today and will be cooler yet the next several days. Friends came in for retirement reception this afternoon.

Tomorrow I'm back at the house where I did the cabinets earlier this summer helping him take out the backsplash, clear down to the studs and putting on new sheetrock.
