Has anyone installed the Fast XFI on an LT1. I bought the system earlier this year, but just now am able to install it. There isn't a good install instruction manual. Fast said to I can remove the factory ECM for a cleaner look. I just want to be sure that I'm not going to have to go back and fix something.

I installed the Holley hp on my 93 LT1 with a crank trigger, I would imagine it's pretty much the same for the Fast. You will want to keep the stock ECM for you gauges in the dash I would think, I would leave the stock ECM and unplug stuff from it only as you replace it with a new sensor from the Fast. Hope this goes good for you, I live about 90 miles north of you.
Do you plan to stick with the stock opti? |

If possible, mount the FAST computer inside the car - glove box? Or relocate the battery.
A lot depends on if the FAST computer is truly heat resistant. If not, it gets hot, all things go to hell fast. |

I'm wanting to remove the ECU from the engine bay, and trying to figure out what I might lose.

Are you talking about the coil module? If so that is driven by the crank trigger and then the Holley ECM. The FAST can give you sequential and coil on plug if you want it, someone made a disc that you put in the opti to accomplish all this but I can't remember who. If you really want to know I could try doing some google searches and see if I can find that company again. |

My worry is about how the AC system works...
Specifically on my 92 which has the automatic climate control option. So I assume something in the ccm has to feed the factory ecm/pcm to run the compressor. At least on the cars with the high dollar optional AC system. I'd love to update the engine management on my 92... I really think my car would benefit but I got to keep the creature comforts working as designed. Will |

Their harness does have all of the factory plugs. With the kit they send a jump drive with their software. On here they also have the install instructions, and wiring diagrams. I have the XFI 2.0, which will use the pick-up in the opti for spark timing. They said with the EZ 2.0 I would need the crank sensor also.
It is still a lot of work, because I want all of the factory wiring that will not be used to be removed. I could go the easy route and lay their harness in with the existing. |

I started the car today!! There are still a few items to clean up. The CCM doesn't like the ecm being removed, so I am getting the CCM C41 code (lost communication with ECM). Is there a signal generator I could wire to the serial data and bypass this?

My other code is the ecbm code 73. For an open or short on circuit 1687. After reading the fsm it looks like I need to put a 3k ohm resistor in line and ground the grey/ black wire?
