Good Morning CGs!

Good news, the motor is in

Dropped the kids off at school yesterday and then screwed around a bit before going into the garage. I think it was around 11:00 when I started. Went to put the flexplate on, and no locking star washers. Seriously? So a trip to the hardware store ate up 1/2 an hour. But I got them, and got the bolts on and torqued down. There was a good 30 minutes of head scratching as to where some clamps and brackets for the wiring harness went that attach to the bellhousing, but I got that figured out. Block went in pretty quickly, but the bolts didn't. When the trans is in, you can't leave the motor mounts on the engine and drop it in, you have to put them on the car first. Then it's a pain to bolt those on to the block. But I got the motor lined up with the bellhousing dowel pins and dropped on. Then there are 6 bellhousing bolts. 4 are a PIA due to clearance. So I got 3 bellhousing bolts and 4 motor mount bolts in before it was time to clean up and get the kids. Once I had time in the evening, I got the remaining bolts in. I did drop a total of 3 motor mount bolts into the frame, so that was pretty cool. Luckily I had extra bolts that fit, but still not much fun and a lot of cursing.

Today I might attach the torque converter and a few ground straps, wiring pieces, etc. Maybe not. Depends on my mood. I think I can work 1-2 hours here and there at targeted parts of the install and have the car done by the end of the month. If it goes into March, no big deal.

The nice part will be getting rid of the engine stand and engine hoist that have been consuming my garage all winter! Those things take up a lot of space.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Happy Friday! Well I believe it is Friday, anyway. Wind chill will be around -13 today, and -23 tomorrow. May have to button up the cardigan. Went to visit a friend in hospice last night, hope to be able to do that a couple more times.

Make the most of your day, Gurus!

Morning Guru's ........looks like your tactics worked Tommy.....no more Christmas at the Guru's........its cold and dreary here in the Heartlands.....this is the month you think winter is never going to end.....

I took an old lady, who had just been through 3 major operations some colorful flowers yesterday. They stood out in the drab grey day like a red sequined dress at a funeral...(sorry, I'm trying to be a writer in my spare time... )......it made her day......I got to thinking that I need to do those random acts of kindness more often......lot's of folks got it real tough and could use some encouragement.......

Today farmer meetings and truck stuff......yeehaa.......open the gate Guru's....let'er buck........

Morning guys...just back from morning church. I'm trying to attend daily mass during lent. I used to do that all the time, but when they changed daily mass to 8am I couldn't do it. Now that I don't have to be anywhere I can do it again.

Sorry to hear about your friend, Brad. Hospice does great things. Marcus, I should do those things as well, more often. Matt, it's amazing how those little pieces disappear.

Speaking of weather, it's going to cool down for the next couple days here, but I'm not complaining about it. We are still way above what Brad is dealing with. Upper 40's and low 50's the next couple of days, then it starts a warming trend to where they are thinking 80's by the end of next week.

Well, I got some things to do in the shop. Have a great one guys.

CLEAR, CALM, AND COLD IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING. THERE IS A PALL OF SMOKE IN THE AIR, WILDFIRE SOMEWHERE, I RECKON. WE HAVE A NATIONAL GUARD CAMP TO OUR SOUTH; TRACERS & DRY GRASS IS NOT A GOOD COMBINATION.

BRAD, YOU SHOULD GO DOWN AND VISIT TOMMY UNTIL THE SPRING THAW.

Good afternoon. My phone has been ringing of the hook all f@(%ing day ...... Gotta go. Another honey-do to attend to. Sue has a booth at The Coconut Grove Arts Festival this weekend. Let's see how many more disturbances there are in the force over the next few days. I know they will happen but that NEVER makes it any easier to tolerate.
