Welcome aboard!

Clicking? IIRC, the drive axles use CV Joints... How many miles?

If I am right, I would check the rubber boots for tears. I will consult my manuals tonight and confirm.

If the boots are torn, then the CVs could be bad... especially if they are clicking.

Welcome to the site!

Any other info you can provide on the car? Mileage, any recent work done, etc?

Have you inspected anything in the rear end or suspension for play/wobble?

A common problem with the C5 (and C6) is the rear axle nut coming loose. You can remove it, clean any rust/etc and relube, then retorque the axle nut to 118 ft lbs.

Good luck.

63k did not notice the clicking when we bought it.No work done to it.I had the local garage look at it,they have never seen a car set up like the newer Corvettes.Dealership prices are so high to have them look at it..We bought it 3 months ago,now out of warranty.

Very likely what I posted. Take it apart, clean, lube, and replace the nut. They aren't too expensive. Also check the wheel bearing.

The nut is a good starting point! A similar problem exists with the C4... rust sets up in the bearing and causes a clicking sound against the stub axle.

However, the C5 does have CV joints... check the boots.

As for bearings, these are very durable. I would not expect them to be bad.
