Good morning.

I've been caulking the exterior of the shed the past couple of days. Will work on the back wall today and then I'll be done with that stage. Painting will soon follow. Hot, mid 90's, but no rain to speak of. May the day go YOUR way.

Darwin award contenders are always waiting for their shot to fame and misfortune. I'm sure many husband has secretly wished for this at least for a second or two.

Morning guys....A little on the agenda this morning. I'm helping Rosie do a project at her office, along with two GSs and a couple other boys. Actually I'm not helping, but supervising, as it entails a lot of lifting.

Got to get around, I'll check back later.

A walk on from Greely NE and a kid right off the farm who was living the dream. He was at a punting camp held for high school kids up in Wisconsin when he and the punter for Michigan State were killed when the car they were in lost control on wet pavement and hit a tree......damn......no alcohol involved but they were going fast. There was one survivor and he was in the back seat.

Stay safe Guru's.........

Howdy! Lots of stuff going haywire at work, so it is busy. The time will pass quickly before heading to golf league later.

Sorry to hear about your punter, Marcus - that is a real shame

Have a good day, all!

A property that we were trying to buy but was tied up by a crooked realtor has sold for $7000 less than our final offer. We f@(%ed up on this deal all they way around. Sue's brother had a contract on it and relinquished it. We put in a bid but Sue low balled it trying to get a steal of a deal. That's part of the reason it was lost. If she just would have paid the listing price it all would have been a done deal. The realtor sold it out from under us and tied it up for over a year till it closed on 6/23/16. I always say things happen for a reason. It was not meant to be. I always say a little prayer when I go into property negotiations. Something to the effect of .... "God, if it your will that we have this property, (car, boat, other) then it will come to be." Seems like it has had positive results up to now. We don't get everything we want but we have more than enough of everything we need (or think we need). Don't know that God really has anything to do with it but I keep Him in the loop.

The right C2 can be a decent investment, more fun than a house.

Or a weekend DNBFS driver, more fun than mowing D lawn.

That caulking looks like a huge, tedious pain. Be a real nice hide out when it's done tho.
Sorry to hear about the punter. Seems they're always gone too soon.
Speaking of PITAs... had our share at the shop the last few days. Working on the
89 "rescue" Vette. Why did they discontinue the steering racks for those? That gave us a whole new headache. Taking out the old one wasn't much fun either. Never cared to learn that process and don't care to repeat it. It also got a new power steering pump, water pump, hoses, thermostat, the works. We pulled the complete radiator/condensor/fan assembly from a donor 87 to put in there where the '89s was busted. Then used the drill, grinder and my wire brush sets to clean up the trans and driveshaft on the '65 pickup. No fun there, either. Got the motor for it back as well and got it put on the frame. Slowly but surely....
Hope everyone has had a good last few days and stayed cool. Been hottest ever here and miserable.

Wasn't too hot today, but felt hot sitting waiting on a truck to arrive to receive the commodities Rosie's office hands out. The freaking truck was an hour late. Sitting there with five kids (there to help load and unload) wasn't too much fun.

My back is a bit better today as well. Made an appointment for tomorrow for a 60 minute massage hoping that will move the healing process along.

Did some more work in the shop, then off to do a little computer work, then back to the shop to continue the changing table that matches the crib. Did a lot of gluing today, so hopefully tomorrow I can get things fit together.

Marcus, I saw that on FB, things must happen for a reason. Tommy, I think you are smart, keeping God in the loop....never hurts anyway.

Good luck on the power steering rack. Some of the parts store rebuilt units are bad out of the box. Same with the pumps. I had a "rebuilt" pump go bad right out of the box. I hate doing a job twice. I had my rack rebuilt by turn one. More expensive and longer turn around, but worth it.

Ok, back from the computer call. Ended up bringing it home. Still awful sticky out there. So, I'm in the basement (read where it is cool), working on the computer and watching my Royals not getting it done again.

Oh, Tommy, yes the caulking job looks good.

Marcus,
We have the 89 Vette at the body shop. A friend of mine had it and wanted to sell it. We had a dune buggy he liked so we traded. The '89 is red with red interior, 24,000 original miles. it's not been treated very nicely. He blew the motor in the 95 Mustang so this will be the new SCCA car for him. The 65 Chebby truck is a frame off restoration we are doing for a man. Both are large PITAs
