We had the house open all night as the cool air remained. It's going to creep up in temps today though, upper 80's they are saying.

I didn't get a lot done yesterday in the shop, with running over to the 'city'. When we got back the vanity and mirror went away, so the shop opened up some. Building a couple BIG cabinet doors right now 16 x 84. Don't think I have ever done doors that tall.

Have a great day guys...

Good morning, all. Still recovering from Carlisle yesterday.

One of the highlights from the day was that I was able to get Jerry Palmer to autograph two 20 x 30 posters I've made of Lauren, one in Lambertville, NJ on the Delaware River and one on the Bonneville Salt Flats. He seemed impressed that I had actually brough him pictures of my car, instead of something more generic. They go in for framing today.

Good Morning CGs!

Yesterday morning I started the process of closing the pool. I added 7 big bottles of shock and ran the vacuum all day. Of course last night at 10 pm it started pouring rain and hasn't let up, it's still raining now. That usually messes up the pH and chlorine levels a little bit. I'll run the pump some more today and maybe add some more shock. Then I have to drain the water and put the cover on. Of course, we have two birthday parties to attend today...

I also winterized the sprinkler system yesterday. Wife said she won't be using it any more this season. That involves turning off the water supply and draining the copper pipe inside the house. Then you hook up a compressor to the supply valve outside and open each zone individually to blow the water out. Otherwise the water will freeze in the winter and crack the lines underground. That's not much fun to locate and repair. I had to fix one this spring that was cracked (could have just been the ground shifting, not water) and replace another head that the lawnmower hit.

Supposed to attend a car show in a bit. It's 45 minutes away, but my buddy is debuting a car he did a restmod on. It's a customer's car, but they put about $50-60k in it. Late 60s Nova former drag car. They did a motor swap with some huge 500 cubic inch motor, trans, fuel injection system, custom interior, etc. I've seen the progress as it was going and it seems quite nice. He said he's going rain or shine, so we'll see if this clears up a bit.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

SUNNY AND A BIT STICKY IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING, 89 THE PREDICTED HIGH. NOT BAD FOR AUGUST, THE CHEROKEES THINK.

DOVE SEASON OPENS THURSDAY; THE AMMO MAKERS REJOICE. THE ANNUAL FAMILY EXPEDITION TO WESTERN OKLAHOMA WILL GET UNDER WAY WEDNESDAY.

FOUND A SHED SNAKE SKIN IN FRONT OF THE BARN DOOR YESTERDAY EVENING. BLACK SNAKE MOST LIKELY, FOUR AND A HALF FOOT LONG. HOPE HE TOURS THE BARN FREQUENTLY, IT WOULD MAKE UP FOR MY FREQUENTLY AWOL BARN CAT.

yep...the 9 o'clock sleep in......very nice! Foggy and damp here but the heat is coming back starting today.......I need to mow the acreage so maybe that will happen in the next couple of days.....I will see if Uboy will help....but he is home to get his stuff to move back to college...so I am sure he will be in a hurry........Dad....can I borrow a pickup.......?

Still planning on heading west in the GS in September to see #1 Daughter....she lives a bit closer now but not a lot......need to get some rejex on the front end.......I'm just not a nose bra kinda guy I guess.....maybe I should be.....

Gris.....don't know what to tell you......if you plan on keeping the car in the family forever then I guess the title does not matter that much.....but they will need your title because they are buying the car from you if its totaled.....and then you get it back if you buy the car back.......but it will be a salvage title at that point.

We have had several vehicles totaled over the years and did not want to buy them back because they were really totaled if you know what I mean....but if we had that is the way the it was explained to me it would work.

Might be time to move on to that C4 ZR-1 you always secretly wanted......

.....orrr.........you can just fix the car with your own money and take the insurance folks out of the picture......withdraw your claim......

Have tons of fun today Guru's.....

Howdy! Had a scare this morning- I woke up at 6:52 and thought,"WTF, how did I sleep so late?" Then I remembered it was Saturday and got right back to my routine. Wet out there, so it looks like a day of indoor projects.

Have a good day, yawlz!

If I'm not mistaken fuzzbusters and other signal detection devices are also outlawed. In the 80's when we drove through there we did the speed limit or just a little over. Back in those days we'd just get a good front door or follow behind a long convoy and try not to be last. Except for VA we tooled right along. Now we fly long distances. Pretty much anything out of the state of Florida would be long distance. Takes almost 7 hours for us just to make it to the Georgia border.

...they do give you to 80 mph in Virginia.... but out in the wide open spaces like Wyoming the limit is 80 and we push that 5 or 6 more. Utah the same way and Montana......75 here in Nebraska but everyone runs 82 with no hassle on the Interstate. Its 60 mph on the blue highways and you can push that by 5 mph. .....but over 90 will buy you a lighter wallet...... You would have to be over 100 or so I'm thinking to be hauled off to jail....just would depend on the circumstances.....like the beer cans falling out of the car when you opened the door for your sobriety test.......big nagatory.....

Thank you, Tommy.

The picture framers found me some stylishly uneven wood painted/stained a light blue with some ornamentation that looks almost like rivets. I would never have asked for this, but I'm betting it will look great.

This framing company started on our good side: we pushed Lauren into the parking lot of another one of their locations when her fuel pump died last September. The owners were very nice to my wife and a rather distraught John—when we found that they had a local store we resolved to give them a try. We were enthused to find out that they were really good and also reasonably priced for a fairly high-end frame shop.

Nope, Gris, it's all done with manual machines....mostly my 66 year old shaper!

I love the simple design and the size is pretty much based on the "golden rectangle".
