I am working on a 72 Vette... and the bellhousing inspection cover is missing! Can't find one.
350 ci/TH350 AT. Any ideas?? Apparently, the generic Chevy part does not fit. |

FYI, 1972 should have a TH400. TH350 didn't come in the Corvette until the 1976 L48.
The part your looking for is called a "Flywheel Dust Cover". https://www.summitracing.com/search/pa ... N=4294924307%2B4294949291 Some of the universal ones do not have the cut out for the starter which is usually required on 168 tooth flywheels, If I remember correctly.... it may be the smaller 153 FW. Anyway, you may need cut it into the cover or buy one that is already cut. Will |

I have a new coil, Pertronix, installed.
coming next, new plugs, wires, fuel pump, oil change, trans filter and gasket. The under carriage was degunked last night. I still need to flush out the radiator. It will be done next week. It needs tires, just don't know the timing. I may have an interested party. |

It's been many years since I had my hands on a TH400, but IIRC the 400 had a electric downshift. The 350 was linkage from the carb.

The trans just doesn't look big enough to be a TH400.
I will check it again. |

On the 1971 Chevelle, the TH400 electric kick-down switch was supposed to be located near and activated by the accelerator pedal at the bottom of the firewall. Perhaps it's the same on the Corvette. Mine was missing since I got the car 10 years; but with the poked-and-stroked BBC, I've never really needed it. |
