GMCG's

Up early with one of the dogs having difficulty breathing. She needs to lose some serious weight. About 4 pounds of her current 13. Up at the emergency vets getting stabilized. Went to the auction yesterday and scored some nice stuff at decent prices. I used restraint and didn't bid stuff up when I wanted it. Got out of there cheaper than usual. Gonna start on X-mas lights today and set up a stereo system I bought at the auction. Got some vintage Technics electronics with some Bose 401 speakers and satellites and a subwoofer for about $90 after taxes and fees. Picked up few other ornamental things and a lightbulb box lot for $5.00. All kinds of household bulbs and spotlights. That was a steal of a deal. Came with a brand new replacement ballast for fluorescent too. Make it a good day. Think I'll be dragging.

Morning guys...Slept in a bit again. Rosie and I need to make a quick run to the 'city' for a few things.

Next weekend, we are headed west to a wedding of a niece. It's a tough one for me as it's a 'happy' wedding. I don't understand that lifestyle I guess.

It's cloudy and unseasonably warm right now, 50 and headed to low 60s. Then tomorrow the bottom drops out. and we have highs in the 40s a couple of days, then down into the 30s with lows in lower teens.

Souds like a nice score Tommy. I still have my old Technics receiver, turntable and tapedeck. Don't use them, but still have them. Still use my Bose 301s, always wished I could afford 901s.

Wow that would be a tough call for us Tee....hmmm.....think I might have to schedule a root canal or something to get out of it........colonoscopy maybe but you already had one of those......hmmmm...... It is considered sin where we come from but we are all sinners in our own way so its not up to us to judge but our generation is not geared to accept the happy folks......I try to be accepting but really am not around it at all out here.........In the end it will be the Grace of Jesus Christ which only requires that you believe in your heart that Jesus is who he says he is and that His sacrifice at the cross is the connection between us sinners and a very holy and righteous God.

Wow must be Sunday.....I was doing a bit of preaching there.......keep the faith Guru's.........

I paid $375 for my mint condition 901's in 1979.

Then bought a Yamaha turntable for $1,100.

Along with my Bose 901's, I also had a double stacked Advent set of 4 speakers. Those were a big deal in the stereo magazines at the time (actually sounded better than the Bose).
http://forums.audioreview.com/speaker ... -advent-system-22979.html

I had a boatload of money is stereo stuff.

Back then, I was looking for a pair of Klipsch Cornwalls but couldn't find them used. They were about twice the price of the 901's which retailed for $1,800 without the stands.

Greetings! Moving kinda slow today, someone may have been a bit overserved last night. I got to start the day with a 3-hour conference call with a client, so that was joyful. I see a serious nap in my future.

Have a good one, yawlz!

The mid-west philosophy is pretty conservative and that's hard for me to get through my head.

A HEADLINE CAUGHT MY EYE THAT IN CALIFORNIA LAWYERS WERE GOING TO BE BANNED FROM HAVING SEX. GOOD IDEA, I THOUGHT, ANYTHING TO CUT DOWN THE LEGAL POPULATION EXPLOSION. ALTHOUGH IT WOULD CHEAPER JUST TO NEUTER THEM WHEN THEY GRADUATE.

BUT READING FURTHER I FOUND THE BAN WOULD BE ON SEX BETWEEN LAWYERS AND THEIR CLIENTS.

DOES THIS MEAN THAT IN CALIFORNIA YOU CAN'T GET SCREWED BY A LAWYER? :-)

Truly a sanctimonious Sunday response. You guys would be freaking out here in SoFlo. As a straight married white guy it's amazing I've lived here as long as I have. I do live in the country part of SoFlo though and that is shrinking by the year. The happy people make up a good number of our plant buying clientele. Their money is as green as everybody else's.
