Too bad you're so far. Not too far for a nice summer ride, but now it's a little rough

Maybe some more local folks will check in.

I'm up for that. Once the weather gets nice I'm sure some guys would be up for a cruise and maybe a picnic at one of the forest preserves/state parks.

Between Flint and Grand Rapids, Michigan. Every once in a while I see a gaggle of odd looking cars gathering at the local McDonalds. I then see them in the dealer showrooms and on TV ads later. Saw one of my first camouflaged C5s that way.
There is a Corvette club around here called Grand Valley Corvette Association. I went on one of their mystery trips back in the mid 90s. Sat across from some blow hard dude who kept bragging about his supercharged C4 and all the money he spent on it. Arzewhole totally turned me off from ever joining that group. I had a rubber bumper C3 at that time and felt totally dissed. It was an 81 that had been converted into a convertible and I felt it was quite unique. No one even came over to look at it or mentioned it.
Kinda of like being on a run with a bunch of C6ers nowdays in an old C4. No respect.
I usually go to Bloomington Gold each year. Maybe we can all get together there.
By the way, I have and do wear my black "Rick Anthony Motorsports" T shirt from time to time.

Anybody know if road construction is still on I-294 North? I'll be going up to visit my daughter in Gurnee next week for Thanksgiving. I usually go I-24 to I-57, then I-294 to I-94. Last July on my trip the road construction on most of 294 was pretty bad, along with some on 94.
Thought I'd ask on this thread since it was active again.

Thanks
Joel

Check out this link:

http://wrc.dot.il.gov/dashboard/?signedin=%22yes%22

You will want to select cook county.

There is still some construction on the southern part of 294 and around the interchange, but I haven't been down there in a few weeks. Most of the construction is farther north towards Alsip and up. But there is a buttload of construction all over, period.

I'd just stay on 294...you have to pay because it's a toll road, but less of a PIA than I-94 and you don't have to go through downtown. Just personal opinion.
