Howdy! It is sunnier than predicted - I'll take it. I got the Vette out of the garage for the first time in a good while. Meanwhile, the countdown to the long weekend begins.

Have a good day, all!

Went to the scholarship award dinner last night sponsored by the Homestead Rotary Club. Sue and I were recognized for our contributions and donations at previous auctions. 21 students received scholarship grants for their outstanding achievements. It was nice to see that young people are striving to realize their dreams, excelling academically and contributing their time and effort to the community through hours of volunteering locally. We often hear about the bad but it was nice to hear about so much good the local youth have to offer. (now I know I'm getting older) I just made the statement "it was nice to hear about so much good the youth have to offer." lol. After the dinner Sue and I helped clean up a bit, more Sue than I. We were approached to join the Rotary and Sue was asked to join the Women's Club of Homestead stating they could use a woman like her. Unfortunately time is a valuable commodity for both of us and we respectfully declined. We give to a number of organizations and individuals in need but time is something we don't have a lot of. We do what we can and fact is we can always do more but try to maintain a balance. You have to set aside some "me time" or "us time".

Sunny and comfortable this morning, 54 and headed to 90. Work at the hall today is on the agenda. Then back to the shop to do some work.

Here's a couple shots from earlier this week, putting the corrugated PVS on the roof of the awning. I love the awning.

Not sure what going on, but my links to photobucket aren't working.

Good Morning CGs!

I mentioned yesterday that I got a successful tinkering project accomplished on the Corvette yesterday. Today I told the wife I need to look at her car to do some maintenance, just checking the brakes, etc. Hopefully that all goes smoothly.

TB - which type link are you using from photobucket? Try the HTML. If you use the img tags you have to change them to lower case img.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

SUNNY AND COOL IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING, A NICE DAY COMING UP, LOOKS LIKE.

DARLING WIFE LIT OUT FOR TULSA THIS MORNING TO PICK UP HER FRIEND AND HEAD TO COLORADO. LINDA HAD TO BE HOSPITALIZED OVERNIGHT FOR HER DIABETIC FLAREUP, WHICH MAKES ME WONDER ABOUT THE WISDOM OF HER MAKING THE TRIP. WE SHALL SEE WHAT WE SHALL SEE.

GOT TO RENEW SOME CAR TAGS TODAY, MY IDEA OF RENEWING THEM ALL AT ONCE SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN MORE THAN THE STATE BUREAUCRACY CAN HANDLE. "WE'VE ALWAYS DONE IT THIS WAY"

I don't even have a defense for that .
Additionally, I try my best to get Arron to set aside "us time" as he works daylight to midnight. He allows himself to be overworked. He needs to find a balance or life will be gone before he knows it.
I'd like to find my balance on my lawn chair at home today - it's beautiful here - and wouldn't you know it, rain all through the holiday. Figures. New part on pool and salt is in and now it's gonna rain. At least the plants will be watered.
Speaking of plants, I saw a post on another forum about cool unusual plants and found a few I want. Bat plan, ghost orchid and devil's hand tree. The ghost I'm told is impossible. Can't be, they're in florida swamps, but I'm not there to find one, or get seeds. I heard they're endangered. The tree I'm told gets to 60 feet and native to Guatemala and Mexico. Couldn't I have a dwarf on inside? The joys of living in the butthole of America.
Carry on kids, I have a box truck to wrap.

I don't know, it's working now. Maybe it was too early in the morning for Photobucket to be working right.

Bravo, Tommy!

Lookin' good, Tom!

My major accomplishment was getting the lawn mowed, glad to have that done. I will have to hit the Vette with some detail spray, got sprinkled on a bit on the way home.

A PRODUCTIVE DAY, SORT OF. GOT THE CARS TAGGED, OIL CHANGED IN THE BUMBLEBEE AND THE OBSTACLE COURSE MOWED.

I KEEP THINKING I WENT OVERBOARD WITH THE BLACK ACCENTS ON THE BUMBLE BEE, BUT PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS TELLING ME HOW MUCH THEY LIKE IT. GUY TODAY TOLD ME " THAT'S THE ONLY YELLOW CAR I EVER THOUGHT LOOKED GOOD". IT ALWAYS TICKLES ME WHEN PEOPLE LIKE MY C4S :-)

I know what you mean GRIS. Whenever I take out one of the sports cars somebody always has something nice to say about it. Makes it worth the clean up effort. Especially with the C4s.
