On the 17th anniversary of the day I bought the Little Green Car - my 1992 Coupe - it rode away to GA on a trailer... To its new home.

I know it will be cared for and that's all that matters.

Ironic about the timing.

I feel your pain Andy.....lot of history and fun times in that car over the years.......didn't you drive it to Florida to the race several times? How did it end up gong to Georgia?

I have watched some nice Corvettes head down my driveway with someone else driving them and always has mixed emotions but the toughest one was my 63 Roadster. I damn near cried like a baby when she left....but the babies where little and the business was young and I needed the money....

the best thing you can do is go get in the C6 and go for a drive and all will be right with the world again. Onward and upward we go.........

Marcus - you done nailed it. Tons of memories.

Three trips to Sebring... the key to meeting my wife... the existence of this site... the link that got me published in a national magazine - more than once!

I will never forget that car - ever.

I bought the car on 29 June 2000 for $16,800.00. It had just under 40k miles. I paid 'r off in August of 2003. No car payments!

I sold her to an old friend from HS. We go way back and he is a car guy and a retired Army Major. He has time and some money to make it right. And I know where LGR has gone and can visit whenever I want. Which makes the sale a little less traumatic.

I sold it, as is, with a box of spare parts, and 220k miles, for $4k...

Nothing was broken, it was just worn out.. tired... The rear needs love, the trans could use a rebuild... but driven gently on the road, should go for another 50k or more.

So basically ... All it needs is a new drive train ..... I get the car connection thing. I still remember the cars I've owned and things I did with them. It's like a song that brings back a flood of memories.

Bittersweet day, I'm sure, Andy. But on the bright side, you do have something to console yourself with ;)

I understand Andy. I've had my share of cars that I've had to leave behind or watch drive away with someone else at the wheel. The hurt goes away but the memories don't.

It stings, but then it goes away.

I am feeling better about things now. I don't have all the work ahead, which was looming... it stopped being a hobby to being a requirement.

To make it more annoying, I didn't have a 2nd car to drive, so the fixes had to be done in small bites. If I had a daily, then I could have parked it. But I would not have been able to afford the C6 AND restore the C4.

Kinda like a break up, then you meet this awesome new woman and... daaannnngggg... you'll soon forget all about the 'other' one. Great memories tho.
My last one came in banged up on a trailer and left on one. The previous black one was only three when I got her, a divorce present to myself, I had her 12 years, then sold and still running around town to haunt me. I pass it now and then. Haven't seen the first one since it left. I delivered it to a guy a couple towns over in a horrible storm with lightning the likes I've never seen.
Enjoy the new ride ;)
